Grey but the centre cap is still silver? I’d say that’s the opposite of classy. Looks like a cheap refurb.

I drove to Lepson's today to speak to them and check out their 'wall of wheels'.

It was actually very helpful. I also learned that the same company (rather than Lepson's) own both Lepson's and Spit and Polish -- and that whilst S&P now use better quality paints thanks to the inventory of Lepson's, the QC is lower than Lepson's and hence, cheaper. They are all refurbished at the same site in Gillingham by the same guys, however.

Anyway, I looked at Himalaya Grey (no photo) which I didn't like as it's too flat -- it's a simple powder finish, hence, the cheapest but it refelct (no pun intended) in the appearance, too.

I also considered one of the chrome options -- the top one is most representative of the surface most similar (of the two) to the AMG five spoke:

But I've actually settled for MB 'Light Grey' which is an official colour and had a lovely sparkling to it.That's the darker of the two colours (obvs) but I won't be getting the diamond cut nor the masked silver finish, not least because it costs an additional £100 per alloy...

I think that with that, I'll just get a flat light grey centre cap too, keep it simple.

Other than that, I took the back roads to Gillingham via Tunbridge Wells -- Rochester and Chatham are quite interesting towns and seem to have some history to them with prominent old buildings and monuments (such as one for a naval college?), I'll have to look it up.

Additionally, the steering wheel mounted paddles now work and they're brilliant. There are two and each one can change both up and down, with a long press resetting it back into 'D', as per the operation on my gearknob operated 7G in the E500.

I now have to but a used 'keyless go' module and see if it can be coded to the car.

It's a great thing to drive -- a little long -- also, the driver's seat isn't very comfortable; I wonder whether the AMG ones are better... scratchchin

Good to hear it's back on the road, BM thumbup

That mid grey looks good, but imho needs the silver accents to compliment the brightwork around the windows yes

As regards the seat, are all the support air bags functioning properly?

Out of those 3 images I would concur that your choice would be best.

The car tootled off for its annual ticket today. Hopefully the rear lights can be separated from the the detachable tow bar.

I did forget to order the keyless go unit, however.
