Cracking project. Well done. Ignore the cynics... I can think of no better way of spending 11 grand than on something you enjoy.

..And that's coming from a man who can't stand fasthatches.

Years ago I worked for a team and we built 6r4`s and the like. The engineering and simplicity of this conversion is fantastic. They have put a lot of thought into the way it fits using the original points etc and as for the price I think its well worth it. When building something like this its for total originality and I think you have certainly achieved what you set out to do. Have tots of fun with it I`m sure you will.

Wow, never seen this before. Heard of it being done, never seen it.

To all the people asking why spend the money on a Saxo, its his money, if he wants to chuck it at the Saxo, he can, and he did, and now he's made a great machine, that's bound to scare quite a few people driving much higher specced cars than what they expect this to be.

just been reading though this thred again and first of all well done to the guy that owns this car for getting exactly what he wanted.

secondly i have owned a saxo so according to some people that would make me a chav, so do these people also asume that because a person is black that would make them good at basketball or that someone that is islamic would therefor be a terrorist.
all i am trying to say is please dont tar us all with the same brush because a minority may let the side down

rant over
just my two cents

Well I am not really into small French cars at all, but I will say this. Old Saxos, in terms of bodywork at least, look much better than Ford Fiestas and Ford Kas of the same age. So Citroen obviously did something right.

Nice conversion, have you had it on track yet? Any performance stats? (0-60, 1/4 mile etc?)

Just read the whole thread and I've come to the conclusion that you really can't win on here! Modify your car for aesthetics And you get haters, modify your car for power/driveability and you get the same. What is wrong with people?

Just be pleased that young people are still interested in cars, what ever they choose to do with them!

Same way the mini conversions do I'd guess. Turn at the test centre, pay your money and if it passes it passes.
