Yeah, I'm convinced. I think it looks spectacular.

Although, I'm not entirely convinced on the stripes, but then again it's your car not mine!

I keep coming back and looking at the pictures every day.

It's just the perfect blend of modification.

Bravo.

wow that is a fantastic thread! Hats off to you my friend!

Unfortuantley at this time in my life (im 22) on a measley wage i dont think i could stretch to a modern 'hot hatch' like a clio 197 nevermind a ferrari 438 haha! So i applaud your efforts in owning & self-maintaining such a car.

As mentioned previously in the thread, typical ferrari owners (in my, and many others opionions i figure) leans towards the typical rich, lazy etc type of guys that probably couldnt change the wheel nevermind remove the engine! I think this thread may have changed my mind somewhat though wink

I bet its a hoot to drive, and sounds like since youve owned it you've spent the right money on the right things - getting the suspension geometry sorted etc.

Doesnt actually sound like they are 'such' a bad/expensive car to live with taking insurance & fueling them out of the equasion... untill i guess an engine and/or gearbox decides to give up.. i read it costs 4 THOUSAND pounds to replace the gearbox on one of these? ouch!!! redface
Hope that never happens for you my friend.

I'll keep my eye on this thread and look forward to future updates.. See you at a trackday sometime maybe!

Keep up the good work =]

I don't like the stripe, but else its great. I think the 348 is the best looking "modern" ferrari to date thumbup I keep thinking 993 to myself and then get thinking 348.. biggrin

The 4th pic in the thread looks like it was taken if I am not mistaken at Kent Hi Performance in Park Wood, Maidstone wink. I know the place well.

A great thread by the way.

Very impressive. Love the idea of whipping the engine out of the old Fezza and doing a few bits one weekend. Im not a fan of stripes on any car but yours are reasonably subtle. I was reading the bit about stripes before seeing the pics and was imagining two horrible thick white stripes.

Beautiful car and congrats on being brave enough to take on work yourself with it. For me personally though, I would lose the stripe also. Think it looks much much better without.

Saw this post when it originally went up. A lot of rubbish gets posted here nowadays but every now and then you get something properly worth reading. Please keep updating us on progress - it's great to get an insight into cars like this (once cost ££££££'s and ££££'s to maintain) being used and maintained at an 'everyday level', with the car still being looked after as it should smile

Respect Angelis. fking nice car. how can anyone not want to own a Ferrari 348, really. don't knock 'em. I haven't driven one though.

WAY better than a Tuscan - which is the discussion that led me to this thread.

Good on you, fella! As someone who does all the work on his own car, I can only dream of being able to work on my own Ferrari!
Tell me you use it everyday, and do 15,000 miles a year too for even more kudos!!!

Fantastic biggrin

Personally reckon the 348 looks prettier (read better wink ) than the F430!!
+1

Gotta love the wedge shape, the 348 reminds me of a Testarossa crossed with a 355fi

I like that you were daring enough to work on it, took some real nerve to do it

I hadn't heard about the hate surrounding the 348, I thought they were well liked!
(Shows how much I knew!)

The only thing I had heard that was suspect were claims about the Twitchy handling with different tires, but I guess if you are going to have a Ferrari, a Tire change is your last worry!

Good to see your enjoying it, and its good to see someone realize that owning a car with bad rep in reliability can be sorted for a lower cost without compromising the quality, rather than running off to the dealership and bowing down to their bills!

Have Fun!

to revisit an old thread, Angelis, admired this car for a looong time indeed. Is it lowered more than standard or does it sit like that with the 355 wheels?
