I recently did the Silverstone Porsche experience day, where I got to drive the S against a GT3RS back to back... My instructor also hadn't done a back to back with both cars, and it left us both scratching our heads a bit... interesting..

I'm planning to do one myself in the autumn, just to get a bit of coaching on how to handle my C2S quickly but safely on the road, so I would be very interested to hear whether you felt it was a good day.

Yes it was an excellent day, and highly reccomended imo... It consists of a few different activities, an ice grip hill, where you slalom through water jets, obviously the faster you go the more opposite lock you need to control the impending spin. A 'kick plate' which throws the rear of the car sideways (random direction) onto an ice surface, again oppo lock is the way to hold it.. A low grip handling course, which was unfortunately dry and rubbered in, and was virtually impossible to slide the back of the S out, on sharp turns + full boot. Then finally there's a 'handling circuit' which resembles a typical B class road, with off cambers dips and some very twisty bits.. But this is where you can drive flat out, and really throw the car round.. Interestingly after playing with the S, I got 30mins in the GT3RS, on the handling circuit, and the biggest difference (apart from the acceleration) was how much it slid in the corners, I thought the grip levels were much lower than the S, although it was very controllable and fun 'drifting it around the tightish corners.. What you could do easily was control accurately, via throttle and steering, where you hit the apexes, and then enjoy the power slide out of the corner.. Whereas with the S, you had to be more precise as I suspect the electronics minimise the sliding moments... My instructor also had a go with RS, and found the grip lacking so much so that he checked to see if there was any tread left on the tyres (cups!), and yes there was plenty... So we were both a bit bemused tbh

Yes, picked it up on Saturday and slogged back out of London in torrential rain, back up the M1. And then found that the front of the splitter catches on the lip of the (very short) private road up to my house! Soon sort that out though. I had a short blast on Sunday, and went to the jetwash to clean off the muck from Saturday, and now it's sitting in the garage at home, waiting for me to get back (working away during the week at the moment). It is both longer and wider than I had expected, so I'm going to have to clear a bit more space in the garage for it so that getting it in and out isn't too much of a chore. Anyway, the long and the short of it is that it is beautiful, immaculately presented by the OPC, sounds awesome, drives like a dream. I can't wait to get back out in it tomorrow. And of course I will get some pics to put up here!
