Unless you take GAP insurance!!
Have you tried getting a new car once one has been stolen ?

It does not happen over night and is a right pain in the arse maybe leaving you with no car for months on end.

All this talk of it being stolen doesn't make me feel confident biggrin

All I meant was that did the dealership organise 2 days for you with respect to the experience? The reason is that I thought that Porsche GB automatically offer a PEC day with every new purchase, i.e. It's not something that you should need to negotiate unless the car isn't new. However, if you got a 2nd day, then that would be something in addition to the normal practice. It's not a big deal, I was just wondering.
Oh, I think it is just a single day, but the car strictly speaking isn't new, it was registered by the dealer and used by the manager, so unsure I would have got it unless I asked.

You wouldn't have. That would count as a used car in Porsche's eyes, so well worth getting!

i looked(not physically) at the black spyder opc sussex back in december but they took the p*ss out of me for my trade in.got £5k more elsewhere and a newer car ie 2012 model and not a 2011 ,similar spec less the full leather.they also wanted £54k whereas i got mine for £50k so the p*ss take was to the tone of £9k.funny i tried haggling hard but they said to me it would sell easily come end of feb.laugh never deal with them again. nothing wrong with the car maybe over specd for a spyder and must bear in mind it is over a year old now so i wouldnt pay more than £44k even though delivery miles

£44k was the figure I had in mind when I looked at it just before the CR. I was really surprised they didn't go for it to be honest. Funnily enough I had a look initially in December and was very tempted but didn't make sense to me at the time but if I'd had a bit more cash at the time, I'd have gone for it!

Mine came with the transponders and paperwork so make sure you get all the bits with yours. For info i bought the dealer demo and got the porsche experience as well but did have to ask for it.

Enjoy!
Well my other half and eldest daughter are running a fund raising jubilee coffee morning in our garden. So I have the choice of sticking around to help or succumbing to the R in the garage........ Decisions , decisions. I predict I will be in the dog house!

Is that Spyder the black one? I took a good look at that one 2ce. 2nd time wasn't so impressed with the deal but it's undoubtedly a lovely car. TBH I was very surprised that they didn't come down a fair bit in price. Don't really understand why it hasn't sold, must be the red interior!
That's the one

Had a couple of drives off it, very nice.

Agree on the red interior though, looks nice from a distance but to live with?

Long drive over, car was as described and now back home; absolutely delighted with it, though took it easy on the return to see what mpg it will do, managed 32mpg which is ok. Such a lovely looking motor and amazingly comfortable, didn't feel fatige or any pain in the bucket seats.

Just a couple of matters to sort, seem to have a small rattle to my right to find and although the aircon/climate was set to LOW all the way back, we didn't feel cold, so not sure that is performing well. Fortunately it has a warranty to cover those things though still a pain.

Need to contact the dealer tomorrow though as unsure why I've not received any V5; maybe you don't get one or the dealer has held it by accident, not sure?

Will try for some pics tomorrow, 10 hours driving and rain on the way grrrr

Amazing car, amazing!

Cayman R from Colchester; fantastic service from start to finish. Bought it based on sales guy describtion and paid a very good price otherwise I'd not have done it, as it was a stretch anyway.

12 plate with some amazing options that I wouldn't have picked but will certainly help residuals like PCM and BOSE; plus a nice surprise, full dash leather which looks simply stunning. Yes it might add to the weight and go against the concept of the car, but as air-con is spec'd on 99% of them anyway, a bit of cow hide isn't going to make much difference, and it still goes like sh*t!!!

I'm not a showy person though, hate the attention, which made standstill traffic on the M6 a little embarrasing as EVERYONE was looking and putting thumbs up! When the traffic cleared, I did thank them with some rapid acceleration with PSE on winksmile

I'll get some photos up tomorrow.

IMHO R has a superbly well-judged ride /handling balance and is more special than an 'S' for about the same money.

I'm not sure if this was intended or not, so please excuse me for pointing it out but why would you tell a guy who's just bought a car, that he's bought the wrong one and should have bought a different one instead?

I could understand if he was seeking opinion prior to purchase but once he's confirmed he has already picked it up, what possible benefit is there?

Don't worry about it J-P, not bothered, my forum history shows that I've considered pretty much every car Porsche do, and some others.

Ultimately for me the R is a much better car with similar every day use, has a better spec, looks much better and is incredibly rare. This should all help make the R a future classic and believe it will have a bottom price which is a bonus.

Anyone know about the air-con/climate, should it be giving out really cold air because it doesn't seem to...might need gassing, I'll check with the sales guy tomorrow if the manager (who used it daily) had any problems.
