What I'd like to know is this.......they've a 1974 365 BB for sale; it has covered 9.6K miles. How'd you value it? Also, it has no wing mirrors. Is this right? Seems very odd to me.

Camlet,

I would say no. At the time italian regulation deemed as mandatory only the left (for LHD cars) mirror, I would investigate a bit more on that if you're planning an addition to the fleet, but I think it's nothing that could turn the buyer off....

Really, why would anyone be jealous of someone so precocious? Anyone could do what he has done, if they also had had it handed on a plate? Oh its jealous by the way.

I am not jealous but no one handed it to the guy who started it so well done to him.

Not sure he was handed it on a plate. He was privileged but he basically started as a sales assistant at the age of 12 and worked his way up before buying his way into a business.

I heard 12 year old's have a brilliant ability to sell supercars as people who buy them are usually inexperienced, naive mugs.

IMO the whole "12 year old millionaire business man" image was exaggerated to get TH some cheap/free publicity.

If you want to buy one of his cars, go ahead. If not, find one somewhere else.

It's no coincidence that there's not a single post on here from anybody who's actually done business with them who wouldn't do business with them again. I have, and would again.

The rest is just white noise.

And its worked quite well for him hasn't it? Well done I say ...

Having met Tom Snr and Carl, if I had the funds and they had the car, I'd have no issue buying from them.

If the majority of the people who've commented on this thread had full disclosure on every person involved in the supply or manufacture of every product they ever purchased, with this sort of attitude, then they'd find that they wouldn't actually purchase anything. The amount of negativity on this thread surrounding TH's business, anyone would think that they're involved in slavery, human trafficking or child murder!!!

I don't condone racism or general abuse but if you're offended by their tweets then don't follow them. If you don't like the seller or their attitude, then don't buy from them.

He seems to be doing a good job of adding to that list by posting such racist drivel publicly.

Maybe you need to read the thread again.

I have recently done business with THJ, although Gary did everything after the deal was agreed. In view of the twitter 'tweets' (the youtube stuff is cringeworthy and corny but as has been alluded to publicity stunts) I dont think I would be able to sit and look at either THJ or Carl without saying something and as such will probably not deal with them again.

I actualy briefly mentioned the negative image and was told "That was by younger brother who had issues on Pistonheads I believe." so even then I had to say something. Maybe it says more about me?

Yes, but it is not just the younger brother but Tom Jnr himself has come on here and publicly bawled out a poster whom dared to post up his findings regarding mileage and number of owners on one of his misadvertised cars.

One of my friends purchased many cars from the father over the years, he now flatly refuses to deal with them ever
again.

Why does he refuse to deal?

I've bought and sold cars with Tom Jnr in the past and would have no hesitation in dealing with him again. Like everyone else I find some of Carl's comments on Twitter ridiculous/rude etc, and have never spoken to Carl so really can't comment (and don't think there are any excuses for them anyway, just insane to post that). However, Tom has been totally honest with me at all time- the various cars I've bought have always been completely as described, and when I've sold them he's followed through exactly as he's promised. Some may have other examples and that's fine, but I'm a big fan. The other thing I like about Tom is that he has guts - he's the guy with a chequebook to buy cars that others don't seem to want to take a chance on, so on that score good luck to him

Before anyone even wonders, no I'm not related etc etc etc....!

not followed it close enough but from the thread thought carl was the flash git while tom jnr was the keen racist?
(...all alleged etc)

wouldn't invite either of them into my home or to my table for that matter but that's never stopped me doing business with them or others of a similar ilk

do their public personas adversely affect their business? don't know
do they care? don't know, doubt it
do i / should i care? no (though the race thing was more than a bit silly)
are they worthy of respect or even grudging admiration? no (they're offspring of a car dealer ffs)

anyhow have been forwarded tweet of tomjnr re monks heath and clive sutton gone into liquidation and not noticed a verdi or other type thread re that? have i missed it?
