I have been looking into a return to the fold after a not altogether happy experience with a Road King. I started looking at 1200 Sportsters and then was put onto the FXR which, following a bit of investigation, would seem to be a bit of a special case. So, if any of you kind gentlemen would care to reinforce why I should buy one, please do so. Oh and if any person knows of one (twin disc) for sale? Not after a minter, but one that is mechanically sound and needs some TLC. Thanks in anticipation.

Right, Road King replaced by this after a long round trip darn Sarf..... Based on a 1980 Harley Sportster Ironhead. Custom Ally mudguard and tail section, custom exhaust, Ebay find clip ons and rearsets. Mods thinking about loosely (without having ridden it) is to look at swapping out the stock Harley rear shocks for something better in the handling stakes. Was thinking going with Hagon units.. But enough of the mods, just want to ride it now.....will have to wait for the weekend...

I've heard of replica Featherbed frames to take Sporty lumps, is that one of them?

Wow, I wouldn't have expected that reply. Very different & nice looking to the original bike.
