"My Wife won't let me have a bike. She says they are dangerous"
and I can help with that how?
Or any comment about how dangerous motorbikes are. No, the dangerous bit is the tit on the bike or the tosser in the car not watching.
Stingrays... Now they are dangerous, same with Lion fish and piranhas, but unlike them no motorbike has ever tryed to bite or sting me.

I pulled up at an old bike meeting on the Rocket Goldstar. For those not into old bikes, a Rocket Goldie is pretty much the pinnacle of factory cafe racers (bar an MV four!). More valuable and rarer than a regular, single cylinder Goldstar - a good original clubmans one is worth a Panigale, plus a bit. Loads of replicas about, but ours was a real one. Old boy walked up, and before I'd even taken my lid off said "is it a real one?". I smiled and said it was. He scoffed and said "yeah, they all are now aren't they". I ignored him. He said "how do you know it's a real one?" I said because I've got the logbook, and all its history and bills since it was new. Changing tack, he pointed at the back of the underside of the tank and said "tank's been repaired". At this point, my old man was as frustrated as me and replied calmly, "well it'd still leak if it hadn't been, ya f kin' idiot". Made me laugh Old boys on old s tters don't like young blokes on nice old bikes, in my experience

pozi said: "I bet you like wearing leather"
Yes because it is the best material in protecting my fragile skin if I fall off, not because I have some hidden fetish!! I do like that comment , cos I do have a leather fetish!

The perennial "How fast...?" question..... or "why do you need something that's so fast?" or "is it really safe?" or "can you really use that much power on the roads these days?"

Brothers ex gf "all bikes sound the same to me" said over lunch as the rest of the family are calmly stating the no. of cylinders the bikes have as they pass down shift and then accelerate way from a nearby roundabout.
Excuse me!

"What is it, 600?"
I don't even know why it bothers me, it's not as if it's blatantly obvious either way ('02 RSV1000R) but its f*cking massive really, when compared to anything modern and it's got two honking great Akras sticking out of its arse...I just can't see how your first thought would be 600!?

Everyone seems to know someone who either died on a bike, or because of one and a lot of them seem to think they should tell you these stories. Heck I bet somewhere out there theres a family that's been robbed, mugged and murdered by a motorcycle. 'ooh there very dangerous you know' no s t thanks for telling me, ever ridden one? Have you b ks. A couple of months ago me and a mate stopped for a burger and this bloke comes over and asks what bikes we have, nice to speak to people who show an interest...then proceeds to tell us all about his mate who was killed in a horrific accident just before we set off. :/ I know he just thought it was normal conversation but I didn't wanna hear it.
