After putting the end in at the engine-end, you pull the outer cable against it, to gain the length to get it into its housing.

The 2 nuts on the engine. turn them out then lock the 2nd one against the bracket so that the cable and adjuster can't work its way back.
Then there's the adjuster where the cable gooes into clutch lever housing, adjust that out untill you have some sort of lever pressure.
I know what the tomorrows thread will be. "help, my clutch is slipping".

Nuts at engine end are supposed to go either side of the bracket, not both on one side.
3 pages & no-ones spotted this?

It's all on. Now, there is a lot of play, and when I pull the clutch in it stays in. I have turned all the knobs (stop it) you have said and it won't change

How have you set it up at the engine end?
The clutch shouldn't be sticking

Well Lads, this is what happens when you have a of a step dad who never lets you turn a spanner. I go full retard. Sort of done it, waiting for a mate to come round with some pliers (Miss placed mine) to sort the adjusters. Thanks for all your help, I honestly really appreciate it.

Mate, you seriously need to find a Haynes manual or something! That should be an easy job... In the future, I recommend taking a good look at how something as simple as the clutch lever and cable works before taking apart. Be very careful to remember how it went together, or take pictures... there is nothing wrong with notes/scribbled diagrams/pictures! Last of all, before tackling something you have never done before, take a look for a video guide online! Youtube is an incredible resource these days, and you could have easily found a few good videos about changing clutch cables, then maybe an in depth video about the adjustment too... while it may not be for your bike, it will help you a lot! Please don't take this badly, I don't mean to offend or be rude! Glad it's almost sorted... Don't apply too much pressure with the pliers on the adjust on the lever, you don't want to damage the anodising if there is any, or chew it up!
