I had the same idea about coding out the TPMS. That is a real option if it is not an easy fix.

The CEL is a dying cat (P0420 power train, bank 1 cat below optimum efficiency), I think caused by excess fuel in the exhaust when the car isn't allowed to start. In the early days before I worked out the issue it smelt very fuel rich when cranking it over. The various mechanics looking at it would turn it over and by pumping the throttle it would cough into life briefly then cut out again like you'd pressed the ignition-off button. None of this has helped the cat.
I've ran 2 cans of cat clean through it hoping for an easy fix but am expecting the light to come on any day. That's the worst bit of driving it - the anxiety of either the TPMS flashing or the CEL appearing.

The SRS code is a network fault, always showing as pending, U0151.
TPMS first step is to change all the wheel sensors I think. You can do two when you get those tyres done and if you're lucky that'll do it, it would be a shame to code it out because it's a nice idea when it works.

I'd live in hope that a long sustained period of hard use might sort that cat out.

Good luck with the SRS issue, I followed your posts elsewhere but don't recall if you've put in a new module to try yet? I've seen that error on a car where the airbags were deployed.

Jag are replacing it FOC on Monday, which is lucky for me. When they swapped the fuel pump (because they thought that was the reason for not firing) I told them i wanted a refund if it didn't work. They agreed that the module could be swapped and recoded instead of a refund.
It's a pain to get to so I'm happy they are doing it.

I do think the airbag has been deployed at some point in its life. So this is probably a badly coded module or something. There is no crash damage visible underneath or behind panels but there are some odd things for me.
The fuel cap isn't flush with the rear quarter, the rear NS seatbelt buckle was fitted the wrong way round and I've found broken glass in the foot well (the drivers window is marked Pilkington whereas all others are Jag). The front is also a Japanese brand, although front screens get replaced all the time. Overspray is visible on the dash (but the chrome door surround has been painted body colour).
And I remember a Jag specialist whispering under his breath that something didn't seem to be coded right when I first bought it as the TPMS module went on the test drive and it was replaced FOC.

So, a car I should've walked away from. But I live and never learn laugh

Still, my old Alfa 159 cost me way more in 3 years than this has!

I quite like getting a car with a stack of invoices where the PO has been bent over hehe

Usually they're from the main dealer so there is always the nagging suspicion the work was never actually carried out, but if these guys are good then his largesse is very much your gain.

Indeed, he definitely paid top dollar for everything and he did admit as much to me. He was willing to pay for the convenience and looking at his house was not short of a few bob - but as you say - very much my gain. I just hope that he at least got a nice cup of tea and a comfy seat whilst there and a decent courtesy car.

Mind you, I am not short of a few bob either but i'm still not going to pay £150 + VAT for oil and a filter!

Module swapped today (wrong part originally ordered so it was delayed). Airbag light went out...

It's back outside to get cold again (it always seemed to be less problematic when warm). Fingers crossed I hear good news tomorrow morning.

Long shot, but have the airbag connectors under the seat been checked (disconnect /reconnect firmly a couple of times). This is a common problem on many cars - not sure if it applies on the X150 bit can't hurt to try.

Lovely looking car. They are set up quite aggressively aren't they, took a bit of adjustment for me too.

Very nice! Love the colour, I hope we get a few more pictures!

Roach Classics or Simply Serviced are my suggestions, they look after my partners XF.

Drmotorsports,
What a beautiful automobile! May you have many great years of enjoyment with it. 11 years in, I still consider it the best automobile I've ever owned even with over 211,000 miles. Hope you have the same success. Gorgeous.

That's stunning, well done. XK Dynamic R? They have the XKR-S ECU mapping (or something very close to it) which is a bit sharper than standard. I installed that on my 5.0 XKR and didn't notice massive difference in outright performance but the car definitely felt more keen.

I didn't really take to the facelift 5.0 look but I could see myself going back to one of those once I've had my fun with my C63...

Speaking of which, how do you find the C63 now you've had it a while?

Yep 2014 XKR Dynamic R with Black pack. Supposedly all the goodies from the XKRS but without the s/c pulley and the bodykit which i'm not keen on anyway.
