Congratulations it will be good to hear your thoughts in comparison to the Mustang once you pick her up . A wonderful engine so I am personally delighted you opted for the V8 R . They come pretty well optioned so keep us posted how you progress with her
Very pleased with it so far, every option seems to have been tickedreddiesel said:

In relation to the Mustang so far the F Type is even better lighter more powerful and with the exhausts open in sport mode it even sounds betterNmann88 said:
Lovely looking thing. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this the R Dynamic rather than the full fat R? I notice the rear diffuser on your car looks like the R Dynamic rather than the 575hp R model? Either way, stunning and I'm sure it sounds lovely
I think you are possibly correct on that point . In the end Jaguar “brand stretched” the F Type to within an inch of its life such was their desperation for sales .Nmann88 said:

Correct. It’s a P450 R-Dynamic, not an R. It wasn’t just the F-Type that got this confusing badging. I believe the rest of the range also got it in the same way BMW cheapened their M branding with M-Sport on the non M-cars. reddiesel said:
I’m an ex Cerbera owner as well as a couple of F Types and in my opinion the comparison is a good one . Fortunately Jaguar has a reliability and durability that TVR could only dream about but audibly very similar
I think so too, future classic maybe as they are stopping making them soonNmann88 said:

450BHP is enough in a rear wheel drive car so light 180mph top end is only 6mph less than the 575hp which had tax and emissions issues. Easy to take back up to 575 to 600hp but why it's mental as it is
I guess that's the thing. You may notice it on a dry day with warm tyres and a clear road with a perfect surface but for the rest of the time it probably doesn't matter, aside from bragging rights online. The thousands you have to pay for that privilege just doesn't add up to me. It's primarily why I haven't got round to getting my cars tuned. Sure the TT could match the Porsche but even with 180bhp, it's more than adequate for 99% of the time I drive, and the times when it isn't, it's usually because I've put it in the wrong gear.Gassing Station | Jaguar | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
