I paid £200 from TVR Dean in Ashington but it was from one that had been crashed and had a damaged corner so needed bit of bodging. Easy enough with a fibreglass kit from Halfords.

After a trip to le mans over the weekend, I am VERY glad i did the split roof.

We would never have gotten so much kit in the boot with the stock roof, and due to the inclement weather, the roof was on and off a few times, and easily fitted in the boot over the packed luggage. I found the 2 halves fitted snugly on top of each other with the outer edges tucked just below the boot opening lip.

As mine are in need of a trim, I didnt bother too much with any protection, but a suitable bag will fit too

Didnt even bother with any seal between the 2 halves, but I will fit some at some point. after a pretty torrential downpour, ended up with 2 or 3 drips in the car,

I dont think I will fit any clips either, as I think it will be fine as is.

a definate recommendation for this mod from me!

In the queue for the Chunnel yesterday afternoon I saw someone taking off one of the Surry Roofs. It looked very simple and well made. I certainly hadn't noticed it wasn't a normal roof.

I was undecided on a surrey roof. a great concept.....but £600 (with a bag and postage) vs half hour with a saw.......(and mine needs a recover anyway)

but it wasn't just the cost...... I like that the shape of mine with the roof split is unaltered, and the surreys I have seen at the growl all , just from the shape, were identifiable as surrey roofs.

nowt wrong with that, but i'm very happy with the split.

Just back from Le Mans myself, & while the Chim swallowed up the mass of tents, sleeping bags & other camping junk extremely well (as always).

There was absolutely no chance of any roof off action for me frown

I did try and squeeze it in the Aston but my mate caught me and wasn't very happy nono

Pass me that saw laugh

does the chim roof normally sit on top of the luggage, or does that too have to sit infront of the fuel tank?

hehe

It sits in front of the tank, as per the Griff.

When we had one of each, it was easier to put both roofs in the Chim.

perhaps I should rephrase for those with a sarcastic persuasion.......

when removed for the experience of open air motoring.....how does the chim roof store......

is that better??

Flat against the tank as opssoed to the 45 degree angle of the Griff. Still have to take most of the crap out the boot to get it out though.
They could have got a surrey roof in there under the coats etc.
As Del has said this is the normal Chimp attire, so just making excuses.

My Surrey Roof nicely packed on top of a full boot, whilst touring in Italy.

Easy to take out if needed.
