Hey guys,

I've bought a full interior from a company on the net and was wondering if I've paid too much. I know this sounds stupid but I just want to know if anyone else has bought a similar interior and from who so that I can compare. So far I have received:

Fully Tailored Soundproofing kit.

Fully Tailored Floorpan Carpet Set

Set of 4pc tailored overmats.

Rear Speaker shelf cover.

Boot lining kit

Rear underseat speaker board.

4 pc doorcard set.

Hand Brake and Gearstick gators.

Complete set of seats front and rear trimmed. (half leather, half blue vinyl)

Head Lining Kit.

Dash rails

Dashboard (vinyl covered)

Centre Console (vinyl covered)

Arm Rest. (vinyl covered)

I am awaiting the arrival of a second set of seats and now a four piece door card set. (Again in half leather)

The total for all this has come out at 2160 which is 165 pounds more than quoted because i added the extra door cards on.... so have I been screwed over cos it certainly feels like it!!!!

i bought a trim kit a bit ago that was cheaper than what newton commercial offered - looked great in the adverts.

it turned up and was junk, the card backings where too thick to fit, noting lined up correctly and the vinyl it was made from was so cheap and thin that it just tore - it had no ability to strech at all.

i spent hours trying to get it all to fit.

i ended up ripping it all out, throwing it in the bin and reordering it all from newton comercial (which fitted with a day of messing - and looks great

an expensive (120 i think) lesson learned.

when the first bit of the kit i fitted tore, i was still feeling fairly charitable towards the supplier so returned it to them (after emailing them) with the hope they could remake it (i was going to have to pay, but i figured as i was already quids in, what was another 25 quid).

six months later i still have had no retuned part, quote, email back or anything.......

i got so fed up waiting, and after fitting the rest of the kit and discovering how pisspoor it was i just threw it out and gave it up as a bad job.

the vinyl was so cheap it virtually 'shattered' rather than been flexible.

i actually sent some of it to newton for them to have a look at it - i wont repeat what they said about the quality of the materials used, but it was less than complimentry............

i figured it was my own stupid fault for attempting to buy something only on price, and it was a lesson well learned.

'pay cheap, pay twice'

smile

p.s

im not claiming that the kit i bought was from the same supplier as yours, but i will only ever use newton stuff ever again in a car.

I guess then, by the very fact that everything has held together during installation and that it seems to be of a fairly good quality, that I haven't done too badly. It has taken almost three months to squeeze one interior from this company and I have had the parts turning up at my home address rather than the garage (you try squeezing a whole mini interior inside your already fitted mini!!) but at least it's here and looks good, (fingers crossed on the second one). Also after yet another call to the company (they were trying to charge me 165 quid for the second set of door cards) they have begrudgingly thrown those in for free..... score one for me!! So if you guys are tempted by M.A.D autotrim (bronzart) then be aware that it may take a while, you may not get the thing that you want exactly, but the end product is nice and considering how much these two cars are going to (and have already) cost me in the long run then what does almost two grand matter!!

Newton Commercial are the BEST for Mini interiors. They have been doing them for a long time. Some years ago I re trimmed my mini using their goods and am lucky to live fairly close to them, so collected my order from the factory, which is a very well organized.

I DO NOT and have NEVER worked for them. I am able to identify a good product when I see one. My post clearly stated that I had my interior from them and that I live close to Leiston where they are based. So I was able to collect my order. They do mail order for those who do not live close by.

There is little doubt that Newton Commercial are the best around for Mini trim.

Hey, I am still waiting for my M.A.D Autotrim interior seats!! Its been 3 months now. I have made at least 5 calls to them in this time, each time to be promised a delivery date but nothing yet???

Their customer service is awful, so I just hope the seats will be worth it!!!

Be warned they are selling these seats at shows etc but obviously cant make them in the time they tell you as they are probably taking too many orders!! I would not mind if they had just given me a real estimation of the time rather than dragging it out for months!

Anyway, fingers crossed I will get them next week & I just hope they are good quality!!!

M.A.D also known as Ashley James also known as Bronzart....

I got my seats yesterday after waiting 3 months... But Guess What, they are wrong?! looks like they rushed to get them done, and sent out to me... as i asked for my money back last week.
I'm very pleased that they don't have my old seats yet, as then they would be holding all the cards?!?

My advice is to speak to Colette (colette.hough@bronzart.info) she seems to put a rocket up peoples arses

They are at IMM this weekend apparently... so leave it till Tuesday! All I can say is they are nice seats for the money, i ordered two sets and the first set are fantastic...

Good Luck

Hey Guys.

Having allready been let down by another mini trimming company in Stoke and not being able to afford Newtons trim I spoke to Paul from Ashley James at the Bingley Show earlier this year and was suprised at how helpful he was, he didnt just want to sell me something I didnt need and made several good suggestions about my retrim. In the end I ordered a full set of seats, carpets, dashrails, head liner and boot kit and opted for the half leather trim.

About 5 weeks later Colette contacted me to arrange a suitable delivery date. As it happened I was going to Manchester that week and arranged to get the items from them to save me the delivery charges, plus I wanted to see them before I paid the remainder of my payment. When I got to their premises I was suprised to see about a dozen Minis being worked on plus other vehicles including a very nice 328GTB Ferrari.

I met Stuart (the owner) who suggested that if I left the car with them for the day that they would fit everything for me. After about 4 hours the car was ready everything had been fitted barring the head liner. The car looked great and It only cost me £150 to have it all fitted.

I had one small prblem with the stitching coming away on the passenger seat but this was collected replaced and returned within 2 weeks.

Ive since ordered a full retrim for my Hornet and will be having the seats done in my Subaru when I can afford it. Ive dealt with a few bad companies in my time but Ashley James isnt one of them. You may have to wait a little longer for your items than you would eleswere but then again quality takes time. They certainly seem to be in demand and this cant be because they are bad at what they do.

My advice is go and see them if you can, watch them at work and see for yourself what they can do.

Lol, Do you work for them or something...!

Anyway, I am just letting people know my experiences with them...

I should have taken my mini's up to them, hindsight is a wonderful thing... smile
At the end of the day I got two very nice sets of seats, and I couldn't be happier with the way they look

I even recommended them to a fellow mini owner recently...!

No, I dont work for them, although I do call in almost every week when Iam up in Manchester.

They are a good crowd to get on with and allways seem happy to help me with questions and problems Iam having with my Hornet.

Nice interior by the way, can you tell me how I can upload my pictures please.

I've had my seats re-trimmed by Stuart & Paul, they're brilliant! The whole experience has been very relaxed and laid back. I went in one day with an idea, they both advised and showed me the colour scheme, I made my decision and placed my order. I was given a date to bring the mini back for seats and door cards to be fitted, which I did, they fitted them for me and I now have a fantastic interior to my car. I was patient with the time scale given and can see why it was that long.
