I am looking to post an A3 leaflet to approximately 25,000 - 30,000 homes.

What is the best way to do this?

Is it better to get it all printed out myself then use Royal Mail to post?

Cheapest option would be to have it inserted in your local newspaper.

Have your printer deliver the leaflets directly to the newspaper, they insert and deliver to your selected postcode(s).

I used to do our local area occasionally (about 8,000 homes). Insertion and delivery was about £90 (we did the print in-house).

ETA These were A5 flyers. Presumably A4 4pp would be more.

door drops can be c.4p a door. And you can pick your neighbourhoods. I always think that sounds quite cheap.

It would be preferable not to include it in the local free newspaper.

Doesn't need to be cheapest option we are looking at.

Royal Mail Door to Door. Will need to be folded to A4 though I imagine.

That is extremely cheap, any details or suggestions?

Employ someone you can trust not to just throw them in the bin.

We have tried loads of leafletting companies over the years (including a local PHer). ALL have ripped us off!

We pay £50 per 1000 delivered (which is a day's work in 90% of areas) and do about 100K per month in the mids.

Newspaper inserts just don't seem to get the same level of response...I know I just pick them all out together and chuck em away...lots of others do too!

The Royal mail offer a DM service - which was actually quite affordable - they can manage it as a door drop which is posted with the household mail. They can alaso manage the print if needed.

Last time I looked into it they had an online portal where you could build your campaign.

Have a look on http://www.mmc.co.uk/ hopefully you should be able to find what you need.

A local leafleting company. There IS a risk here that they stick them in the bin and go to the pub, so you need to have a number of friends/contacts in the designated area who'll keep an eye out for the leaflet coming through their door, and let the co know you've got a good number of scouts.

Good firms equip their walkers with GPS trackers so that they can demonstrate that someone walked the whole area of the agreed patch. They can also provide some interesting demographic data drawing on census information to help you plot where you'd like to deliver to.

If you're blanketing the whole town, some areas will be more expensive to cover since in the posh areas there are much longer distances between addresses.

It'll be more expensive if you don't want them to combine your leaflets with other peoples'.
