Right, I have a blip.

I'm not seeing the 1Gb of memory I put into the ext4 partition. It's only showing me what's on the phone...

Have you done the data2sd bit? I had to do it in two stages.

The Data2SD is - apparently - included in the Classic ROM and doesn't need a separate install. Or have I misunderstood?

Starburst Classic Main Rom 1.5.0.0 (i) – Classic Edition (Intelligent Data2SD)

I've just blatted the partitions and re-done them to see if that helps.

I am using an earlier version. Double check the install instructions is all I can suggest

What version are you using? I might try that and install Data2SD manually.

After installing 1.5.0.0 did you let it boot and settle, then reboot again? Second reboot looks like out sorts the data 2sd

Once it's working it does take away the one downside of the phone, and you can back it up properly.

can you try the lite version instead?

I've wiped it again and done a fresh install of the ROM with a newly-partitioned card. If this doesn't work, I'll try the Standard version instead. What a ball-ache this has been.

Hmm. There are S-On and S-Off users. Data2SD installs automatically only for S-Off users. Apparently I'm an S-On user. Whatever that is.

I get the feeling I'm meddling with stuff I really shouldn't be, as I have no clue what I am doing.

Done!

I'm back to 'normal' now - all apps reinstalled, contacts in place... It's been a pain in the arse, but I've done it. Learned a lot along the way as well. Now to play with the new apps that come built-in with the Starburst ROM..

Make a nandroid backup now, that way if it crashes you can get back to here in about 10 mins!

Enjoy the extra space!

Is it really worth the hassle? I too am fed up of low space on a regular basis, but had a look at the steps involved and setting up an install boot disk for my PC for the install seemed a step too far for me.
