Its absolutely fantastic!
I'd say no.
And also, be prepared to pay like 7 quid for a burger from a burger van.

I have been once out of the five occasions I have been meaning to go, due to work commitments etc. It was an excellent day out, we slummed it with the hoi polloi so I can't advise on grandstand tickets. One not to miss! (I must remind myself!)

Do: take a packed lunch. Do: arrive early. Do: take water and sun tan cream (fingers crossed it is as nice as last year). Don't:....erm....forget to check your tyre pressures before you set off?!
Can't think of any real "Don't" items, it is a great show. I only went one day last year, would only get grandstand tickets if I could go for two days and have grandstand for one day and just walk around the other day.

It's a great event but busy. My advice would be to aim to arrive early, it's a really nice drive down and worth avoiding the traffic, plus you get there when it's quiet.
I remember when it was new, it's so crowded now. I now don't go unless I'm invited. You can't really see much of the actual hill climb without seats but plenty of other things to see.
Wear comfortable clothes, hat if it's sunny (the event is mostly outdoors, and there's a lot of walking) and I make sure I'm not wearing anything with buckles or whatever that might damage cars I'm leaning over.
It's worth desciding in advance what you defiantly want to see, and planning your day. You won't see everything in one day, so have to be fairly disciplined...it's tricky to walk past the bowler stand without watching, but worth if you really want to see the rally cars.
We are very lucky to have this event here, people travel thousands of miles to go.

Great day out and one of my favourites of the motoring calendar. If you are only going for one day, I wouldn't waste your money on Grandstand tickets as it will take you most of the day walking around all the stands whilst glancing over to see the noise coming from the track

Rubbish.
Nearly bought tickets last year and just realised this year my wife's taking me to fecking Rome over that weekend.

Fantastic day out and well worth the money. Its the closest that you will get to the cars of your youth or fantasies.
Not worth the ticket for the grandstand, slum it and walk about.
Best motoring event in the calendar - i would go this year, but i am redundant.

It's the best event of the year, it's quite expensive for the ticket I believe. Luckily I have a couple of friends that sort me out There's something there for all fans, supercars, loads of Motorsport from over the years, classic cars, and then most manufacturers put up huge displays with their current line ups for you to have a poke around

If you like the cars / bikes but not fussed about actually seeing them race, don't go on the weekend. It's less crowded on the Friday.
