Just this last week I've seen the following: SNAPNNEKS TERMINTR XTRMNATOR GRIMREPOR is there some ridiculous trend of telling everyone you're a hard core killing motherf ker via your number plate. Friggin retards and a fat waste of cash. I don't get it, can someone explain?

This could be a good thread. I know a guy that has AVENGER though that is related to the Avenger Funnycar team. I often see an awesome chopper with the plate DED and another with SCMBAG/SCUMBG. A hot girl on an R6 'DAMND' but 5 letters (I forget which was missed). 2FSN8U on an old Forester I nearly bought a 351 XY GT kinda-rep with the plate CAPUT which I thought was quite good; old but not actually caput, or maybe shortened CATAPULT, but no... 'it's TUPAC backwards'. There are probably loads more I can't think of at the moment. In answer to your question, I don't know. I don't mind it as much as you, what gets me is when it is so inappropriate. The plates you list above on some drag car from hell is ok, and consider too that unlike the UK a lot of cars are known by their plate, such as 'The old PIGB8 RX2' or whatever. It's when you see a s tty old Hyundai Excel with '2SXC4U' or plates that make out the driver is the world's greatest lover or gangsta or whatever that gets me. Here's a summary - I reckon if the plates are a reflection of the car, then not so bad. If of the driver, then totally s t. The other reason is - because they can. Us pommies can't as we haven't grown up with such a flexible style of number plate culture. If the above sounds like I'm disagreeing with you, I'm not.

I remember spending an evening strolling along George Street in Sydney one Saturday night and the amount of daft plates about the owner being, 2SXY, 2FST, G0D etc were breathtaking

See BIBBS and FUGLY just seem fine as either name or comedy, but the ones I see are on WRX's or mostly Commodore Utes with UNIT stickers not the rear window. They make me scared for my safety as they are obviously all double hard and out to kill people The CAPUT one is good as it's pretty much sums it up!

I think name, business and low key model plates aren't bad. Its when its trying to purvey the drivers sense of being double hard or lifestyle choice I don't get. My next rant will be on those f king family stickers....

Debating on whether to get Euro plates for my new Audi as I hate the big yellow rectangle plates that are on there currently. Not sure I can bring myself to change the reg. to anything witty however.
Have got 'OLD 55' on my motorbike (50's style V Twin cruiser) which came with the bike. Sure I could probably sell it to an old Harley owner for a fair bit but reckon Ill keep it for now.
There is a girl driving round in a new Impreza STI with 'WESTY' .. As im sure those of you in Sydney would agree, its not something you want to advertise!

There's a black Merc with the plate SXY getting about here that I've seen a couple of times. The driver really should be done for false advertising is all I'm saying.

I love the freedom of plates available over here and love to see who is behind the wheel of these (sometimes) ridiculously plated machines.
I have a private plate so don't shoot me. i think mine is tasteful though and something i could never get in the UK
I have a not so secret hate for the My Family stickers and comment on everyone i see.
