J a k e said: Guys, Let me know if you see anywhere that has the Blue S3 in stock please. Contract or SIM Free, I don't mind.
I can't find one anywhere and everyone's telling me they won't have any this week. I ordered mine from Vodafone last Wednesday and it arrived at 10am this morning - A full blue one to boot. It is currently on charge and will be extensively investigated when I get home from work.....

I am finding the battery takes an absolute age to charge up (compared to my BB Curve) but seems very good. I have the power saving mode in the tool bar on and its far and away better than my old iPhone 3GS.
Still getting to grips with the standard keyboard. Installed the Swype style one and it was ok at first but found I could type quicker with the standard one. Are there any better keyboards out there?

Its this post that has confused me plus looking around the web. I might be getting confused but to me it seems that there are rumours of two different blue versions. One which is the origional pebble blue but no longer has a matching back, and a mettalic blue which may or may not exist but has a matching back.
Am i confused or is this the case, to be honest i quite like the contrasting colours but wasnt what i was expecting.

AFAIK they have to fix the paint as it wasn't up to samsungs quality norms, so a change of colour is possible but certainly not confirmed yet.

IMHO the keyboard is nowhere near as good as my iPhone 3GS one. Can anyone recommend a better one as it's p*ssing me off plenty?

Yes I agree about the keyboard is it a sad view on life that comma's aren't easily put into text?
Also annoying me is having to keep telling it to go onto desktop websites instead of the mobile version. The HTC desire I used to have had an option which could be checked so that all site where desktop sites whereas unless I've missed the option I have to load up a site then tell it to get to desktop version.

For keyboard I like Swype; and the Chrome browser has a desktop mode. It also allows you to sync your tabs between Chrome on a PC and the phone.

Have been using chrome but doesn't seem to keep the desktop preference. I'm doing it by pressing the menu button next to the home button and checking the desktop view box. Is there more to do?

Swype is there by default free of charge so definitely take a look at this.

If you like Swiftkey, try the latest Swiftkey 3 Beta. It's the best keyboard I've used on Android and has some nice improvements over Swiftkey X. You can download it from hereIt's also completely free due to being a beta

i've had the S3 since friday. so far so good.
i'm impressed. the speed is good, i did an OTA update yesterday that worked without a hitch. battery life was so so (1 day max). but today it seems to have improved massively.. i wonder if that is due to the update or i've played with it alittle less.
swype is in the setting area. I can post how to enable the functionality if anyone is interested.

Phone arrived tuesday, first full charge: Brightness set to 50%, about 3 hours screen time in that. Took an OTA update yesterday. Wandered down to Selsey yesterday evening, the panorama mode works a treat: If you are wondering the darker area to the right is because I was facing into the setting sun at that point, hence the exposure got pulled down.. Exposure lock could be a good idea if you're doing an update please Samsung! The only thing I'd like is scrollable wallpaper in TW, other than that I can't fault it.

Anyone else noticed the signal strength is slightly down? I live out of town so notice these things Seem to be 1-2 bars down from my SE Xperia. I've tried using Swift Key Beta but just cant get on with it so will go back to Samsung's version of Swype. IMO its not quite as good as Swype proper, but better than Swift Key (maybe I just got used to Swype on my last phone?) ETA: OMG, Ive just tried the keyboard voice input. Blimey

Should be getting my blue S3 today/tomorrow I will be a new user on Android, I currently have a Blackberry but have also had a iPhone in the past. Can anyone give me some pointers in getting up to speed with Android (or even point me to a decent Android forum?) Is Kies the altnernative version to Apple's iTunes (i.e. backing up/updates)? Also, which case would you recommend, CPW have a few on their website or would eBay be better option? http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/phone-accessories...Thanks in advance

I just grabbed something cheap and cheerful until something better comes along, so ordered a clear gel case off of eBay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280877964677#ht_1721wt_1...For £2 it was great value. Decent enough case, holes in the right places, good protection, and comes with a screen protector and a stylus too! Arrived in 2 days. Job jobbed
