Pro-Mod is so much better! Agree. Q2 begs the question why ? I understand there is actually 11 TF there now not 12, but for only 4 cars to make Q2 does seem peculiar. Due to various reasons (time, blown engines, costs etc) some cars do not take part in all 4 qualifying runs, but at such a prestigious event for only 4 to show does seem odd. I would feel a bit short changed sat in the stands. Lets hope for a big Q3 later today once the rain passes over. Pro Mod is where its at.

Pro Mod is where its at. Fuel cars get bums on seats, Pro Mods do not.

I hope to visit Tierp for an FIA event sometime soon and a 12 car TF entry list would be one of the main attractions. I would not be happy though if in Q2 only one car ran a good run, three failed to perform, and eight cars remained in the pits (7 we now know as it is an 11 car field).

I think it is quite unusual for more of the fuel cars not to be out though. If you are not 100% with the car you just can't risk running it if you know that you have definitely qualified. I don't believe that this will be the norm at all events.

It rains all day, bad for racers and spectators but the promoter does not take too much of a hit. If it rains am and drys up, good for the reduced spectators who go, good for racers but bad for promoter having to pay out full prize money with limited gate recipts. If there is good weather everyone is happy! That's European Drag Racing, an enthusiasts sport, run for the love of racing!

We have people that can certify a ti clutch can but not a wing ???

It doesn't take a genius to work out why nostalgia 1/4 mile racing is so popular both here and in the states. De-regulate and people will race.

Turn7 said: Im assuming the cars one of the *darker* shades then Tet ? Naturally :-) Although actually, it's not that dark right now. I'm hoping they'll do what they did with the Camaro and keep it matte black until they know they can get it down the track a few times without putting it in the wall and then once they've done so, spend the money on a nice gloss black paintjob.

The high level of legislation/certification may be fine for the cash-laden F1 teams but a bit much to bear in TF, was the wing previously certified and legal?
Then again, F1 is home grown and whereas TF is not, one downside to running NHRA regs maybe?

It is only good for Ferrari when they have the cash, they don't now, and thus they want cost cutting measures. Drag Racing needs to accept what it is and get back to its outlaw nitro roots.

Burndown said: Drag Racing needs to accept what it is and get back to its outlaw nitro roots. A nice sentiment and great in theory, but what happens when someone's rear wing fails at 300mph and a driver gets killed? I agree that the situation with Timo's wing seems overkill on the face of it, mainly due to his particular circumstances where there are very few runs on his equipment. But letting him through leaves open the floodgates for other "oh go on then" situations, and then who knows what the results may be. At the end of the day, everyone has access to the rules and regulations, it's not as though they're a secret. I'm the first one to think some of the parts that need re-tagging and the time frames and costs involved are ridiculous, but at the end of the day, they're the rules.
