LordGrover said: The brakes, I can live without. The spoiler, I can see the slippery slope looming... I'd urge you to reconsider re the brakes and keep them. You might be able to get away with good advanced observation and planning etc., but ther'll come a time when you might be glad that you left the brakes fitted. Anyway, no brakes will be an MOT failure when it's due in 3 years. Or have I misread your entry

I saw one in the showroom for the first time on Thursday and have a test drive for tomorrow morning. In the flesh it looks the absolute nuts but £1600 for leather/alcantara seems pretty expensive considering how small the seats actually are! With metallic paint that will make it £27K!
All of a sudden it make my other choice, a Focus ST3, seem very cheap.
5 year warranty is great as is the thought of Toyota reliability (in Basil Faulty voice: "don't mention the brakes"). And the tyres are £100.
I am really torn. It looks and feels great and I didn't think the interior was at all bad considering what some were saying, and I drive mainly German cars. It has a certain mini-LFA look about it and would certainly make you feel special driving it. Oh, and isofix seats (makes a strong case for the Mrs). Talking of seats, I sat in the rear and at 5'9'' tall it wasn't uncomfortable save my feet which felt squashed by the low front seat. That and the fact it is a little strange looking up and seeing the rear window... Definitely for small children or short journeys for adults.

I'm not really one for going all out on an interior. I don't care as long as its comfy and functional, but I really liked the Alcantara seats. If I do get one in a year or so, I'll be looking for one with them!

Well done. I know I ought to wait for the 62 plate but I'm too impatient - it can't come soon enough.

Take care adding bigger rims, you may knacker up some very carefully set up handling.I'd prefer wider rims, the shape would certainly take it,BUT, it feels so light on it's feet, I'd be worried I'd muck up the sweet feel of the car.Envious of those who've got one on order.

I don't know if this has already been posted, forgive me if it has...but this is the best car review i've ever seen - and i've seen thousands! Nino Karotta crosses Europe in a GT86 to put it up against his AE86 on a racetrack. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYrvhkIivgA&fea...

Best thing to do would be to get rid of the Michelin Prius tyres and invest in some Toyo R1R which come standard on the Evo 10.
Halfway house between the T1R and the R888

Halfway house between the T1R and the R888 Why? All the reviews say that it has too much grip for the power, so why fit even sticker tyres?

All the reviews say that it has too much grip for the power, so why fit even sticker tyres? Do they? The reviews I've seen have pretty much concluded grip is about right. They do suggest any more would spoil/change the character detrimentally though, to the purist who's bought into the new ethos anyway.
