Youve probably seen before that ive tried to split with my E61. First time was 6 months ago and to be honest i probably priced a little too high and only had a few callers, not that i minded i wasnt 100% on selling anyway. Second time round, about 3 months ago i had it priced just right and had a cash buyer within 24hrs but bailed as i couldnt bear to let her go. This time ive sat and written another advert with a price to sell, but just cannot get my hand to press the 'go live' button. What the hell is up with me?
Im keen to move to another, much pondered brand as i think its 'about that time' and i even have another car lined up that i could step right into if i sell the //M-Barge. Im excited by the new car prospect in the same way i am about all my cars, but its that whole selling the M thing that has me stuck. I know it'd sell but im just not finding the extra 1% needed to complete the sale. Hell, i even have the widfe approval on this one.
Anyone else felt the same about an M?

just decided not to change now. Did have a low mileage C63 Saloon on the cards but ive written them off as dull in the past so probably will again. Maybe i'll give this modding lark a try. Maybe start with a carbon front lip or something to stealth it up a bit more.

Ever so slightly off topic, but I've got some pictures of my mildly stealthed M5 Touring and was looking to upload them. It took me about 3 weeks to work out how to get them off my phone, and now I'm trying to edit them to "swirl" the numberplate etc. What package(s) should I be trying to use - and if it's Picassa, what menu option?

I was in the same a few months back... half heartedly had it up for sale at a strong price which I then reduced slightly.
Buyer then came along and I couldnt go through with it!
Never had that with any other car Ive owned.

I had my E92 M3 for sale for months, it was reasonably priced and I got a lot of offers but I didnt really want to sell it so kept knocking them back. I only got round to selling it when I absolutely HAD to (6k a year to 25k a year). I still wish I didnt sell it.

I'm struggling with the same decision on the M6 at the momenmt. I have the green light for a Vanquish, but for £50k more am i really getting what i want and its a slower car. I might just go balls out and get a Lambo JH

Ask Mark about Astons. I think his only lasted about 2 months before he sold and got back in the M5.
Think im keeping mine again, but might do something daft with it. lol

What else were you considering Eddie? E63? Back to another RS6 (C6). Any test drives to rule out candidates?

Tried a good few C63s and can only write the box off as boring. If only the 6.2 AMG lump was mated to our SMG III, then that would be something worth writing home about. The E63 is still too old manish for me and the RS6 too wollowy, despite the option of near 800bhp with a map, filters and exhaust. I cannot get on with Porsche interiors (really dated still) and nothing else seems to fit the bill. I do however quite fancy a masserate grantourismo, but the good ones are still above budget.

Sold my E61 M5 a few months ago. Miss it, yes I do. Work circiumstances meant it had to go. It was the best car I have ever owned.
If things improve at work then I think the V10 RS6 could be a future prospect. I am sure you are also tempted with this?

Thing is though, once youve experienced M handling there really is no comparison on the Audi vehicle list. The V10 RS6 is tempting, but its nowhere near as dynamic as the M5, even when pumped up to 800bhp.

If you are going to change then dont try and replace it with something similar. Maybe go for something wildly different like the GT-R or Evora.
At least that way you wont forever be comparing?

Trouble is the v10 in the M5 and the way the heavy barge handles is pretty unique and very exciting while still being civilised in normal mode setting.
You will have to do a radical change to feel like you have moved forward.
Are you considering a supercharger by chance?

I'm in the same position Eddie.
Three glorious years in in an E60 M5 and now pondering a change.....you know, something different for a wee while until F10s become more sensible.
I've looked at various cars, but the E92 M3 is the only one that tickles my fancy....like a smaller, more nimble M5, albeit without that stunning V10.
I think I'd miss the beast and regret the move.
These V10 M5s are utterly addictive.
We'll see!

Just recently sold my M6. I was very sad to see her go, and no lie I'm upset writing this post now. I've moved on to a 335i, 09 plate, dct, it's very nice but it doesn't feel like my car if that makes sense? The plan is to cut costs for the next two years and then get back in an M5, an F10 to be exact. But yeah, the M5/M6 really put you in a quandary when it's time to sell up, there is nothing out there even remotely comparable for the money.

What on earth is that noisy high revving v10 and quick shifting gearbox doing in a 5 series?
That's your reason, what other 4 doors can you say that about...

Due to the good weather I've been driving mine around the local twisties with the front windows down, the noise is truly fantastic I'm currently looking at getting a 2+2 but it's hard to find something with comparable performance AND the practicality of getting the family away on holidays irrespective of cost.
