Hi,

I haven't put this in the lease deals thread as it didn't seem appropriate.

I know this has been covered in the lease thread but I've never really seen an outcome so will ask again..... and thanks in advance for any help smile

I have now arranged delivery of my new lease Car - Audi Allroad via vanorama and supplied by Lex

I'm not sure what I need to put for keeper or owner so any advice would be good. Additionally, who are people using for lease cars? I'm assuming most companies now cover then as it seems to be getting more common.

Last question....who is good for gap?

Thanks

DizzyN

I used ALA for gap, will probably do so again this year. Most you can get some sort of discount code/cashback, there's always something. If your deposit is large, I believe some gap insurers also include initial deposit cover.

I am currently with Aviva, who I spoke to on the phone and confirmed the situation re private lease and they were fine with it. Looking at renewal this year, most online sites have the option for privately leased vehicles, although you still need to confirm owner/keeper status. About that, speak to your broker as from what I've seen on here, can vary dependent on the finance company.

I'm with the red telephone, as for every single quote I've done, they're at least £200 cheaper than anyone else.

I spoke to them on online chat last week as I have my first lease coming in November. They state that the car "must be registered to you, an immediate family member, employer or a lease company." So all good with them.

ALA GAP plus Contract Hire is the policy I would be buying. Poss 'Initial' cover too.

Direct Gap were better priced than ALA for me, although I have used ALA in the past but never claimed.
Direct Gap also had no cover limits, so long as the car isn't stupid expensive.

For car insurance all you need to do is list the leasing company as the owner, and possibly also list them as registered keeper (unless you will be RK).

Many thanks all

My initial deposit was 'only' £1k so not sure if I need to cover that. I will have a look as I suspect the GAP is pretty cheap.

Just advised a friend on similar. Was about £3 difference to cover the £1000 odd initial.

As a follow up.

ALA seems cheap for Gap with a 12% discount with the code.

Direct line were good for insurance - £490 for the Allroad. Elephant were £360. Both including business use with a no fault claim declared.

Insurance seems easy enough as not being an owner is quite common!
