I have a set of uPVC doors which were installed in a recess, which means they won't open fully 180degrees, only 90degrees. Is there a hinge that I can buy which would fix this problem? Alternatively, I wondered if I could hack into the wall a bit just in the area where the existing hinge hits it. See pics

What you want is parliament hinge...but as far as know they’re not available for pvc frames, only timber but I stand to be corrected. You could cut a groove in the render, which would look a bit poor imho, or alternatively cut back the corner to a 45 degree angle, full height of the reveal. I doubt the doors would fold right back but it would be an improvement.

If there are no limit straps, reposition the doors and frame 2" to the left as in your 2nd pic. Then move your wall light etc..

Move the frame closer to the edge of the opening.

I had our new ones fitted that way and they open flat against the wall.

They're not supposed to be fitted that way due to weather concerns but mine go from the dining room into the conservatory.

As do ours. But moving the frame is a faff as it means the dining room floor tiles stop too short. Also, I'd presume that it might be more of an issue fixing the frame to the wall, as you would be hitting the join between plasterboard and brick wall?

There was no problem fitting the frame, but it was done prior to the plasterboard being fitted in the conservatory.

You need the hinge we designed. Ask you builder to enquire to SFS ( hinge manufacturers).
It is a direct replacement for one of their hinges.
Took 15 mins to swap out.
