Hi All.

I've been with Safely Insured for the past 2 years, this Feb I was just going to renew again with them. Not wanting a "book price" value of my 2005 Legacy Wagon, I stopped using the usual "go compare" type of insurers.

But ive just had Safely email me to say this:

Unfortunately, due to an update in our insurers criteria we have been unable to obtain a renewal quotation this year. We have also searched our market but we are unable to provide a competitive price

I've queried why this is, and waiting on a reply.

But, does anyone else know of any recent specialist Subaru insurance for cars nearly 20 year old?

Much appreciated

I have an 06 Spec B GT. Always been with Gary Moulson & Keith Michael, always competitive on price and all mods declared.

Greenlight/A-Plan may also insure it if you want to have a look around.

Can take some persistence to get hold of him but its worth it, make sure you call rather than email.

Keith Michaels are stuck in the stone ages as far as technology goes, but once you’ve got a quote and lock in a policy you’ll be set.

My ‘93 WRX insurance has been the same £270 for about 10 years!

Renewal end of next month though.

I have always used Aplan , now Howden’s , and you need to go through their Thatcham branch , they are good when it comes to sorting things out , I was hit on a roundabout not my fault , and they were easy to deal with , my Gtr is due soon and I’m wondering if that’s going up as they use a different insurer now for modified cars , three of the cars are with the new insurer and no change yet , all policies have gone up a bit , same comments on the Gtr forum , I’ve head a few companies have gone from say 500 per year to 5 k per year , a basic way to say we don’t want you any more

Called KM in the end, and a decent insurance price was found for my car, so thanks for all the info.
