Seems like a PR coup for the right, probably the opposite of what the socialist major intended….

But as per your link it's not shut down, a court ruled that the laws in Belgium “grant everyone the right to assemble peacefully” and so the show goes on.
Yesterday was obviously a mess and the scenes from inside showed they'd struggled to get much of an audience anyway but Viktor Orbán was the headliner so presumably it'll be packed (capacity 750?) today?

If I think that the Greens are the most deluded and dangerous political group in the UK, can I have their conference raided and shut down?
How about the actual communist party, rather than the green version - ok to raid them?

Agreed. A group of people have may have views that are rather vile but as long as they're not doing anything illegal there's no reason to try and shut them down.How about the actual communist party, rather than the green version - ok to raid them?

(AIUI) the attempt by the Mayor to ban the meeting was overturned by a Belgian court which is how things are supposed to work in a democracy.If you want to look at places or people which are becoming less democratic and more authoritarian you might first want to have a look at the people who were attending the conference (e.f the likes of Zemmour, Braverman, Orban etc)
