Hi all, I've seen a 992 advertised that I like in Manchester but I'm down south so thinking of asking the dealer if they'll take it to a local specialist for an inspection prior to laying a deposit. I haven't even contacted the dealer to enquire yet.
I've never done this before and have never bought a car unseen, so can anyone suggest the best way to go about this? I'm a little nervous to say the least so if any of you have done this before I'd like to read your words of wisdom please!

I am guessing it’s at an independent rather than a main dealer? If main dealer I would be very comfortable leaving a deposit unseen

I would pay the deposit with written (email) confirmation that they’ll refund the deposit if the inspection finds anything (that they won’t rectify).

That way it’s a show of faith/ less of a risk for them.

Hartech are only in Bolton. Might be worth a call.

Give Darren at Unique Porsche in Westhoughton a call.

They’re a brilliant Indy who know water cooled Porsches inside out.

Just to wrap this one up...

Thanks for all the suggestions.
Hartech didn't want to know (too new and too busy), Ninemeister wondered why I'd want an inspection on such a new car but offered a date a couple of weeks away. Porsche centre Stockport never called back and neither did Stratstone Bolton. I didn't contact the other suggestions.
Via the dealer the car went to Stratstone Bolton for its routine service (which they hadn't mentioned it needed until I started asking about having an OPC inspect it...) and they agreed to do the 111 point check while it was there. I paid £216 for the inspection, however by that time I'd already viewed something local and have now bought this one instead, without any of the hassle, aggravation and worry.

Classic customer service by main dealers then rolleyes To think 18 months ago they could afford to ignore most people as sales were buoyant, now with a compound full of cars they can't shift they still haven't raised their game................

I wouldn't trust Darren with a 992.
