Hi all,

We currently have an xbox one and will be getting an Xs series as most games my son wants aren't supported by xbox one.

Question is the games he currently plays on xbox one are they able to be played on the xbox xs ?
Including any saved data ?

He has some he downloaded and some that were bought on disc . .

It depends whether it's a Series S or X. The X has an optical drive, the S doesn't. So old games should be playable on the X by loading from the disc.

If it's an S then they'll have to be repurchased from the Xbox store, if they're there. Some games are playable via cloud gaming with an Xbox live sub, without download, but I don't remember seeing older titles there.

Re progress transfer, I'd imagine that's fine if progress has been saved to the cloud, but I'd check this on specialist forums first.

I advise you get an X with as much storage as you can as AAA titles are getting huge!
