I saw this on Auto Trader. I'm not looking to buy it. I just wondered what you all think of it ?

Only 30k on the engine, but I wonder how much of all the other components have been replaced, mentions a recent clutch, but no doubt needs suspension, bushes etc.

Agreed, not cheap enough for the mileage.

Firstly well done to each owner, for achieving an average of almost 20,000 miles every year for 10 years.

I took my 4.7 out this evening, only for an enjoyable 30 miles, but I regard the Vantage as an occasional fun sportscar. It is therefore noisy and has a very firm and bumpy ride (not Sports Suspension). I could not cope with those features for regular transport though. Cosseted by a large comfy quiet saloon, is my type of daily transport.

Well done also for finding a reconditioned engine. Hens teeth, we understand now.

Description;
This car comes with160 W Aston Martin Audio System.
-2 keys - Manual gearbox - Premium audio system ...

Should be fine for entertainment whilst aiming for the magic 200,000 miles, because it has two radios.

What is on offer at each end of the 4.7 mileage range?
24,000 miles @ £40,000

Or 189,000 miles @ £25,000.

The next cheapest 4.7 on AT is under £30k and has just over 43k miles.

Impressive that this one is at 189k, but it feels like the perfect definition of PH’s Brave Pill. Needs to be £5k cheaper.

Great that the rest of the car can make it to this sort of miles even if the engine in this one didn’t. It would be interesting to see what fails when under such unusually extensive use.

Agreed, would be interesting to read its history...

You would think after >180k miles that car has at least had some shocks/springs etc if nothing else has failed. Perhaps a respray of front end\rear arches etc ....usual wear and tear stuff.

I did 83k miles in my first 2006 Vantage and remember replacing; thermostat, 3 wheel bearings, clutch, AC compressor, ABS transducer, window regulator. Otherwise when I traded it in, it was in fine condition and the dealer remarked they had seen far worse cars with half the mileage. I would like to think a 180k mile old example would have a huge history folder.

Hardly surprising that every year on the MOT history it needs a set of tyres. rotate
But other than that nothing really bad.

It’s just a thought, but could it previously have been a track day experience car, like you get with red letter day or buy a gift, etc? I’d definitely want to see a list of all the previous owners to check. It may explain the engine rebuild too, other than just being high mileage.

Like I said, it’s just a thought.

That seems to have become impossible now.

Vehicle 'log books' don't show even the previous owner any more, very different from the old log books, which showed every owner's name and address.
The DVLA pretend that they make great efforts to protect our data, until a private parking enforcement business waves filthy luca at them and they then immediately role over.
Perhaps some social media photos might give clues to Track Day Experience Vantages. I remember once photographing the chassis number of an Experience car.

Yes as you say a complete money making exercise by the DVLA . The " Trade " have the ability to access the previous owner information though I don't know how much they pay .
