Friend bought a used car with missing headrest

Hi folks. A friend of mine has just bought a used car which is missing the right-side rear headrest on the back seats. He didn't notice the headrest was missing until I mentioned it to him. He doesn't see it as a big issue and has said he will just buy one off eBay. I mentioned that it was a bit disingenuous for the dealership not to have mentioned it was missing. If it was you, would a missing headrest be a significant enough issue to warrant returning the car to where it was purchased? I am honestly surprised he didn't notice it as I spotted it immediately when I looked inside the car.

No,wouldn't bother me, just do as what your friend has done and not waste time argueing the point with the dealership.Notwithstanding the fact that I'd have noticed and insisted that it was rectified before purchase, the above comment is the appropriate response. Shiny dealership: Complain and get them to sort it. Arthur Daley type trading out of a Portakabin on some waste land: Find a replacement from a scapper or eBay.
Perhaps I can help? I bought a rear headrest and didn't notice the car was missing, so I'm left with a very expensive, but ultimately pointless headrest...I was going to take it back to the dealers but I don't want to look foolish or seem like one of those pedantic, awkward customers....

You could car share with OP's 'friend'.
I bought a Mini Clubman privately about 3 years ago, noticed once I'd got home at the middle headrest was missing, not a big issue as I thought there might not be a middle one anyway..
Sent the seller a message and he said there originally was one and he'd try and look for it.
Didn't hear from him and found one on eBay for £10, bought it and duly arrived, a week later the seller says he's found it and posted it to me.
Sold the one I'd bought on eBay for £15 the following week...
Bigger things to worry about. Contact the dealer and tell them that the heardrest was missing, you'll happily source one off eBay but if they could reimburse him that would be great.... if not £20 down...

Return the car, demand compensation for your trouble and write a post on Facebook saying what nasty people the “Stealers” were.
