hi everyone,

this is a message to russel ram.

where did you get your headers from as i am in need of a pair to go pretty much exactly where yours do but with a ford v8 attatched to them. any information as to who made them, cost etc would be much appreciated. also if you plan to race competition, what class do you plan to race in.

thanks alot,

Lee.

Hi Lee,

Headers are my own creation I'm afraid, as is rest of the exhaust system. Well actualy not totally, they are heavily modified from a Hedman 1 7/8 to 3.5inch pipe kit for SB Chevy, as although the port spacing isn't too similar to the Wildcat heads it gave me the pipe diameters I was looking for.

The column is very much in the way on the offside, but I've removed the rubber coupling to make some extra room - the shaft still has 2 UJs in it as standard so it'll still 'collapse' should it ever need to.

Rest of exhaust system is 3.5 inch into Flowmaster offset boxes, exiting just in front of each rear wheel.

I think the header kit was about $240 (Summit). Luckily I sold the redundant Chebbie flange adapters for £35, if I remember correctly.

I was originally planning to run in Street Eliminator, and that's still my target series, but with the times they're running now that might be a little ambitious. Otherwise it'll most likely be SRS.

hi,

i plan to run in pro-et probably in 2007. 2006 will be building the car and getting used to it. i might try an event this year if i can get a good reliable dial in. is it the dragster you plan to run with the 383.

Aye, the 383's going into a dragster, it's replacing a 406 with largely street components..

The 383 will be running a full Dart PRO 1 top end.. which is nice!
