Education Back on Agenda
Children to be taught about road safety again
Discussion
When I as a kid I had to do the "cycling proficiency" test before my folks would let me out on the public highway. Don't laugh, this taught me what to expect of other road users, how to ride on the road etc. I am still an occasional cyclist (fair-weather only these days....), but the example being set by many adult cyclists leave much to be desired. It's a bit like the Horse vs Car argument (hmmm, seen that some where else recently......) about considerate behavour to other road users. The point I want to make is there doesn't even seem to be this fundamental level of education any more, so what do you expect these people to be like when they get a car ??
I remember I did the test 3 times and past on the thurd one even after running over the police man during the emergancy stop but it was funny and i can still remember what the cat on TV would say when I cross a road and I will teach it at my niece and nephew the power of the green cross code
Why did they ever stop teaching it at the schools Bunch of numpties me thinks
