RYA Day Skipper Course

Should be easy enough

Grandad was 70 something when he passed
And my brother has just passed it, and he is only 12 (the minimum age) and he's a dumbass

I think they had help from Dad who's a Yachtmaster though? Maybe wrong?

theory is all OK, but nothing like actually getting out there for a few trips with someone experienced if that is an option.

My Dad has just done his on a 5 day intensive course, he really enjoyed it and plans to take his Yacht masters next year.

Major advantage is we can now toddle of to France / Spain on our own.

I am currently doing a corespondance course as I haven't got the holiday or the weekends to sit in a class room, nor could I be bothered to do 25 nights after work.

Doing my YM on the internet and its going well, if your ok at maths and vectors, and can remember things easily then you may as well just do the YM theory instead of the DS IMO.

Day Skipper theory is worth it to learn the basics, but nothing beats getting out there & doing it for real
