I was actually quite entertained by the piston animation and the breakdown of the Double Clutch system.. was even more entertained by the guy driving at the end WHILE putting the cabrio roof up! Looks like he was doing at least 40 and thought... 'sod the wind-resistance, looks like rain to me' smile

The new rear lights are an improvement but any other changes they've made are too subtle for me. smile

The road is in Lanzarote - between Los Hervideros and El Golfo on the SW coast - close to Yaiza
Is this one of these fabled drivers roads?,..."you must drive this road before you die!",...looks lovely in the vid...cloud9

No not really - it's full of hire cars driven by holidaymakers - and if you go off - big problem

Spot on, AND your spelling is correct too
It's me and you Gibo993 - no one else knows what you're talking about - you must try the fish in El Golfo, it's expensive but very good

(p.s. isn't expensive when i eat there)

It's a relaxing bit of film,but I was looking for a new 911. Which model year is the one in the film? 2000 ? 2002? 2004? 2006? 2008?

Only Porsche could possibly get the idea that a promo vid would be anhanced by including a cut-away of the gearbox in operation.

My personal preference is choupa (or 'Spondyliosoma Cantharus' as you may know it) but there are lots of others. I ate one called 'Richard' last time I was there -he was gutted !!
post script - why isn't expensive [sic] when you eat there?
p.p.s. Isn't it great talking about cars?

You got it - take a look at the photos on Google Earth -there's one entitled 'Coast route to El Golfo' slightly north of where you are - IMO, Lanzarote is one of the nicest and cleanest of the Canary Islands-mostly due to the efforts of Caesar Manrique

I`m usually found in other parts of the forum but saw this and thought I would share some useless information on the video in question. The road is exactly where people have said it is and if you ever go there you MUST go to the seafood restaurant in El Golfo. Anyway, I digress.

When this video was being shot, there was in fact a crash involving the helicopter used for filming. I was told this by a mate of mine who lives in Playa Blanca when I recently paid a visit. More here:

Helicopter Crash near Los Hervideros :: 07/03/2008 [-]

A Spaniard and two Germans were injured on the morning of Wednesday 5 March, when their Helicopter crashed near Los Hervideros (Yaiza).
The Helicopter was being used to film a Porsche car commercial at the time and the crash happened when the tail of the helicopter touched a road sign during filming. The three occupants were taken to the General Hospital with various injuries, although all were said to be outside danger. The road was closed off by the Guardia Civil due to threat of explosion from the damaged Helicopter.
