Forza Motorsport 2.4hrs of Le Mans
Discussion
Hi all, if anyone is interested I'll be running a mini endurance race night called the 2.4hrs of Le Mans.
The race will be 34 laps of the modern Le Mans circuit with random weather and the game time multiplier set to give driving during a wide range of light conditions.
The car is the 2004 Porsche 911 GT3 with a set build AND tune at S730 PI.
I've put a lot of time into the tune/build and it's one that will work for drivers across various skill levels as it's grippy, vice free and has a degree of slip if that's your driving style plus the Metzger motor sings very nicely
Obviously I can't force people to use the tune I've created for this race but it makes it more about driver skill if we're all using the same equipment!
As many of you know Turd10 have utterly cocked up the private lobby tyre wear system so I've set some quite specific rules for pit stops to try and make it a bit more realistic.
Rules......
Participants will use the tune called "Le Man's 2.4hrs" to be downloaded from EVILHOMER40
All cars must start the race on HARD race tyres unless it's wet conditions
Mandatory minimum of 3 pitstops to be taken whenever you choose- punishable by DSQ
Maximum 5 pitstops- punishable by DSQ
Keep it clean - Rubbing is ok but don't be a knob
If you're in a battle but decide to pit please use comms to let other cars know
Mic preferable as Comms help clean racing
If you're of a similar age demographic to myself have a damn good whizz before the race or invest in some Tena pants
That's it for rules, some of it sounds a bit draconian but I've been running race nights for a while and everyone has a good time.
The random weather setting will almost definitely throw some pitstop/tyre strategy drama in so bear that in mind
Date to be decided but most likely in around 4 weeks and a Sunday evening due to work and to prevent any clashes with existing series.
Please post your names and gamer tags below.....

Just downloaded it Andy - tune is great, really predictable. Locked up a couple times but probably more because I usually run really low brake pressure.
Was only going to do 1 lap but dirtied it so my rivals time is 2nd lap in with warmer tyres.
Thanks mate, if those brake settings are going to be an issue I'll happily do another couple of versions with different brake pressure settings for people. Was only going to do 1 lap but dirtied it so my rivals time is 2nd lap in with warmer tyres.

Quick question, sorry if already covered. Do we have to run the hard tyre (unless wet) all the time or just start on the hard tyre?
From memory I think Andy said just starting on the hard tyre, so if you want to pit and swap to mediums or softs that’s permissible - knowing me I’m probably wrong though..! Yup, start on hards unless it's raining then it's your choice from there

Happy with my lap time for now and I know I’ve got a 4.13 in me somewhere.
Until you're on the wrong tyre and it's pissing down Has anybody played long enough to find out?
Also, look at some of my comments (which are based on testing) as this race could potentially be absolutely wild!!

Is there any way of popping in to spectate these things. I think I'd be the drizzling sts with something quick and not sure I could focus for the 2.4hrs?
I've looked into this, and I've not found a way,The best I've been able to do is view other people's laps.

I think it was Rene who posted Suzuka in Minis with an Aston flying around the track, but even that was from his chase cam.

Will look to join everyone later too.
Andy - any chance you can sort another tune with lower brake pressure please? Normally run with 85-90.
I've sorted and shared a version with 90% brake pressure.Andy - any chance you can sort another tune with lower brake pressure please? Normally run with 85-90.
I considered knocking the PI down to 710 as I need all the help I can get
