Anyone know the story behind the James Bond DB5's

Bit of a James Bond fan so yesterday the missus got us tickets to see James Bond in Motion at the London film museum. A large collection of vehicles and gadgets used by the man himself to escape from the baddies and ultimately win the girl. I have an unhealthy addiction to anything DB4,5,6 and they had on display a DB5 used by Daniel Craig in the most recent films. I have heard contrasting accounts of what ultimately happened to the original, I think 2, Goldfinger Astons. One story being that Aston were so hard up for cash at the time on receiving a car back they removed the gadgets and sold it on a forecourt !!!. The other car still with gadgets sold for a hefty sum at auction only to be stolen in transit to its new owner and never to be seen again. Are the originals accounted for or is what's out there replicas, anyone clued up ?
