3000S - good thing or bad?

I've been offered a '78 3000S, which has been fully rebuilt. It was a prototype for the gent who owned TVR at the time (a Mr.Lilley?) Is this a car I can use or are they trouble? I know they only built about 250 of them so I'm worried about parts and maintenance.

Aye, that's the one. Tony at HHC said the thing's been rebuilt so it's like new. Trouble is I've been gifted a 2.8V6 S1, which I thought was dead. It needs £100 spending on it to get it's MOT so it looks like I won't need to shell out. I'll see how it runs before I consider the 3000s.

Re the colour change - the HPi on it said it used to be black and white - but is now Bright Red. Hmmm....
