| Laurence Vaughn visited the Independent Lotus
Show last weekend:
As usual for these types of show the car park was of as much
interest as the show itself. The organisers made the most of the
good turnout by Lotus fans and set up a Lotus only car park out
the front.
The event was split between three halls with one hall
concentrating mainly on clubs such as the Lotus Drivers Club, the
Historic Lotus Register, Lotus Sevens Club and the Carlton owners
club.
One hall was purely for cars for sale and the third one
contained the usual suspects flogging cheap tools, memorabilia,
and autojumble. Interspersed amongst these trade stands were a
variety of cars on display too.
Some cars were ex-filmstars (e.g. James Bond, For Your Eyes
Only ), others were factory prototypes or one-off specials
(Blue-printed Rover V8 in Esprit!) Some looked like they should be
in a museum (Ex F1 cars etc.).
Overall a good start to what might become a regular fixture. |
