This is the new Aston Martin Vantage N420, the latest special edition Aston. Like its predecessor, the N400 from 2007, the N420 has been inspired by Aston Martin's Nurburgring 24hr race experiences.
The Vantage N420 is based on the standard 4.7-litre, 420bhp, 180mph V8 Vantage and is available as a coupe or roadster, and gets either a six-speed manual or (optional) Sportshift automated manual transmission.
The N420 chops 27kg from the kerb weight of the standard Vantage - achieved mostly via the liberal application of carbon fibre.
On the outside, wider sills combine with a carbon fibre splitter, side strakes and diffuser, while 10-spoke diamond-turned alloy wheels with a gloss black finish, black mesh vents and 'Graphitic' tailpipe finishers complete the exterior revisions.
Inside there are 'graphite' instruments, a leather or Alcantara steering wheel, N420 sill plaques and lightweight carbon fibre seats
The Vantage N420 is also fitted with the normally optional Sports Pack. This package combines revised springs, dampers and anti-roll bars, while a new sports exhaust system delivers makes things a bit more noisy (in a good way).
Production of the V8 Vantage N420 begins this month, with deliveries commencing in August and prices from £96,995.
