These could well be the first unadorned images of the forthcoming Mercedes C-class coupe.
The Mercedes news from the Detroit show may be all about the raft of tweakery that has been applied to the saloon and estate versions of its trusty compact exec, (which you can read all about in our previous story on the refreshed Merc C-class), but the Geneva show in March is expected to reveal a far more intriguing piece of metal - a two-door C-class to sit alongside the E-class coupe.
And the car in these slightly grainy (and heavily photoshopped) pics - apparently leaked from some promotional material - could be it.
The new car takes the refreshed nose from the rest of the C-class range, while the car seems to be bespoke from the A-pillars back. But it's a shame that, like the current E-class coupe, the two-door
will miss out on the Mercedes coupe tradition of pillarless, frameless windows.
As for engines, expect the mix of diesel and petrol motors to be broadly shared with the saloon.
Word in the webosphere, however, is that the C-class coupe will be turned into a range-topping C63 AMG Black Series, using the new 5.5-litre Mercedes twin-turbo V8 to give it 563bhp and 664lb ft of torque.
