The BMW 6 Series coupe has been revealed and, like the convertible versions
we drove recently
, it is coming first in 650i and 640i guise with BMW's seamless new 8-speed auto installation as standard.
The production version of the new 6 coupe will be shown in the metal for the first time in Shanghai next month, and will arrive in UK showroom in the summer.
Pending the arrival of the M6 version, which will get a 550bhp twin turbo version of the 650i's V8 and hopefully bring us out in a proper hot flush, we'll stick to reporting BMW's take on the 'regular' strength versions of its new coupe.
"It's the only car in the segment to offer the combination of top-class sporting ability, exclusive touring comfort and a 460-litre (16.24 cu. ft) luggage space," they say.
We wouldn't argue with the practicality and comfort aspects, having admired our old PH fleet (last generation) M6 for just such characteristics. And while we can't claim the standard versions of the new convertible massaged the PH mojo over-muchly, if the new M6 is half the machine the old one was, we're likely to be big, big fans.
But back to the regular coupe, and BMW's new pictures of same, as it's all we've got to work with for now. Prices remain TBC.
