This is the Lexus LF-Gh hybrid concept, due to be unveiled in the metal at the New York motor show next week.
But although billed as a concept, the so-called Lexus Future Grand Touring Hybrid is actually the strongest hint yet at the new E60 BMW 5-series, sorry, Lexus GS.
Joking aside, however, The LF-Gh does indicate how the next GS, with its latest iteration of Lexus's 'L-Finesse' design language, will look when the new car arrives later this year
The most striking design feature of the LF-Gh is the dramatic nose with its aggressive grille and chunky front bumper. Complex tail-lights and sharp side skirts complete the Lexus look, but even so the rear three quarters is deeply reminiscent of BMW.
The LF-Gh is also longer, taller and wider than the current GS, with a more distinctly three-box profile. Beyond this, technical details of the new car are sketchy, other than the fact that it is a petrol-electric hybrid, so we can expect an updated version of the V6 from the current GS450h. We'll know more next week.
