So this is it. If these are indeed genuine pictures - and everything would suggest that they are - this car is the new
Aston Martin DB11
. New Astons are always important, but as the car to replace the
DB9
this takes on additional significance. That car has been a cornerstone of Aston's success in the past decade or so, meaning its replacement has a lot to live up to.
You can't say this looks like every other Aston!
What's new? Well, everything really, as you can see. As expected from the spy shots, there are clear elements of
DB10
in the appearance, particularly at the front end. The rear too has very slender lights, rather like the Bond car. Rather like the
Vulcan
as well, in fact, those two cars clearly pointing towards a future styling direction for Aston.
Also noticeable are the familiar Aston Martin grille and slats on the bonnet, plus fairly modest tailpipes that mimic other models. And we already know the sound from those is going to be pretty good...
Perhaps the most distinctive feature of the DB11 for now is the side profile, the two colours drawing particular attention to where the C-pillar and rear haunches meet. Does it work? Over to you! Unsurprisingly the car is already being discussed in the forum, so get your thoughts in there. We'll bring you more details once the car if officially revealed. Not long to wait now!
