As the road opened on the final corner revealing the monolithic building that now houses Aston Martin, it was clear that both the style and the exuberance that defines all modern Astons has been reflected in the architecture. What a stunning HQ!
Maybe it was the design, or perhaps the Vanquish appearing to levitate on the water outside, but there was a definite hint of MI6 to our Sunday morning meet. Or perhaps that's just our inner child...
No sooner had the clock struck nine than the first PH members were making their way through the gates. And what a procession it was! It appeared to continue for hours also, dozens of cars and people making their way in. It was one of those moments to make you proud as a PHer, with a car park full of fantastic vehicles and enthusiasts alike.
Inside, along with Aston's spectacular heritage fleet were the new DB11, the DBX concept and a couple of gorgeous Zagato cars too. There was even an Aston Martin pram for the baby PHer and very proud parent!
We were very impressed by all the cars in attendance but, to mention just some, there were two rather striking 911 GT3s, a good few Lamborghini Gallardos, a couple of fantastic 205 GTIs, an Ariel Nomad, a Mk2 Golf G60 and a wonderful Mustang, apparently the oldest in the UK.
A big thank you to all at Aston Martin, who once again were fabulous hosts and who gave up their Sunday for us. Plus, of course, we really appreciate the dedication of all you PHers that made trip early on a Sunday. See you again soon!
