𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 ● Extremely rare, legendary 90s hot hatch ● Presented in superb, unmodified condition ● Comprehensive service and maintenance record ● Desirable ‘Phase 3’ facelift model ● Tastefully upgraded Kenwood/JBL sound system

𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 It’s a common misconception that VW or Ford were the masters of the fast, affordable car in the 80s and 90s. Sure, they produced some incredible machinery, but speak to any real petrolhead and the vast majority will tell you that the manufacturer that really conquered every A-road and B-road in those decades was Peugeot. From the era-defining 205 GTI to the vastly underrated sporting versions of the 309 and 405, the lion of France produced hit after hit. As the 90s came in, the 106 GTI / Rallye and 306 GTI / Rallye, continued this rich vein of form, offering keen drivers wonderful handling with rev-hungry engines and addictively snickety (that may not be a word, but we’re going with it) manual transmissions. Try finding a nice one now though. The vast majority ended up in a ditch, upside down on the side of the A38 or embedded in the front of a jewellers. Many simply disintegrated in the British climate. Or became victims of the era’s Max Power obsession – something we enjoyed at the time, but we shudder to think how many classic hatches died under the weight of massive bodykits, scissor doors and, for some reason, multiple TV screens. Anyway. All of that makes what we have here even more special. Not only is this a 306 GTI-6, but it’s in wonderful condition, features a great specification, has a wonderful history, genuine low mileage, hasn’t been horrendously modified and is the desirable ‘Phase 3’ facelift model. Putting out 167bhp from its 2-litre 16-valve engine and with just 1,214Kg to push along, it’s a fine-handling and exhilarating machine. What more could one possibly want? We believe this may be the finest example of the breed on UK roads today. Frankly, we’re staggered it exists and we want it. But we’re not allowed to buy it. So one of you lot has to. And then you need to let us have a go. Please?

𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 It’s difficult to put into words how much we love this car. There’s an achingly cool timeless style to the 306 GTI-6, almost a Q-car vibe, that we simply adore. And when it’s presented in such an attractive specification, with an equally great service record, it becomes simply irresistible. This is a ‘Phase 3’ facelift model too, so it offers, more torque and a smoother delivery than earlier models, as well as more refined styling. Make no mistake, this is hot hatch royalty, and deservedly so. It’s not just a fun, engaging and enthralling drive – it’s a vanishingly rare machine, one that’s genuinely collectible. Don’t let this one slip through your fingers. It’s more than good, more than great – quite simply, it takes our breath away. To arrange a viewing, please request this in the Q&A section.
