Overview

Ferociously Quick. Fearfully Quick? No, Frightfully Quick. We’re pretty certain the titular ‘FQ’ stands for one of those. Almost certainly. Of course, they would all be entirely accurate. Having long established itself at the pinnacle of the 2000s tuner tree, the Evo X built upon the incredible legacy of the model by adding ever greater dollops of turbocharged power and wrapping it all in an even more controllable and confidence-inspiring chassis.

The downside of all this accessible ability was the fact that far too many Evo X’s ended their life upside down in the front window of a local convenience store. The upside of this is that those that have survived have generally been beautifully cared for and lovingly pampered by their dedicated owners. It is just such a car that we have here.

Presented in simply gorgeous condition, finished in shimmering black paint and sitting just perfectly on a set of 18-inch ProRace alloy wheels, it looks every inch the street fighter. Yet this example has clearly been cherished, not abused. Modifications have been carried out with a subtle and delicate touch, retaining the original car’s character, charm and performance.

Of course, Evos are quickly appreciating assets these days, particularly the legendary and immensely capable FQ360 models such as this. To find one that hasn’t been highly modified and thrashed is rare enough to discover one is such fine condition and low mileage as this is genuine “hen’s teeth” territory. So please, pore over these lovely pictures, admire the clean, crisp lines – just make sure you don’t let this Fantastically Quick (?) gem pass you by.

  • The vendor reports no mechanical issues they are aware of

Summary

Immaculately presented with a very fine history, a glorious specification and genuinely low mileage, there can’t be too many of these Japanese rally-inspired classics left in such tremendously good order. If you’re a fan of boost that arrives in gigantic lumps, drivetrains that offer more grip than a host of limpets and exhausts that could swallow a dachshund whole (and let’s face it, who isn’t), then we can heartily recommend the Evo X Fabulously Quick.

Sorry?

It stands for what? Oh… Well they’re not wrong.
