Robinsons Motor Group.
The Group celebrated its 80th year in 2007. Founded by Richard Robinson at Riverside Road, Norwich in 1927, the Volkswagen agency was acquired in 1957 with Mercedes-Benz and Audi franchises being added in 1964 and 1974 respectively. More recently we have also acquired a Skoda franchise in 2000, occupying a newly built facility which includes a new Group Bodyshop. The franchise for VW Light Commercial Vehicles was added in 2001 with the Company being appointed the Partner for Mercedes-Benz for the East Anglia area in January 2002. This is centred in Cambridge, with branches in Norwich, King's Lynn, Bury St Edmunds and Peterborough (from 2003). Responsibility for smart cars was also gained in 2002, for the East Anglian Area. Most recently, in March 2005, the Company acquired four franchises situated in Cooke Road, Lowestoft. We have gained a further two Volkswagen (PC and LCV), and Audi franchises along with our first Seat franchise. As a family owned group we are committed to Customer Service. It is this commitment that has taken us from a small single franchise company to one of the most successful independent dealer groups in the country.
