Description
Stunning looking factory black exterior trim, extensive options list, mature owner, MOT November 2017, every MOT from new. Recent oil service and brake fluid change. Many new parts that include: front and rear springs and dampers; lambda and oxygen sensors; temperature sensors, water pump, auxiliary drive belt and thermostat, professionally refurbished alloy wheels; Pirelli tyres all round (little use) spare unused.
Beautiful full black electric leather interior, very limited wear (please see photographs). This car has been my pride and joy for many years as a second car for leisure only and is reluctantly for sale as my son is upgrading his car and I have decided to take his rare E39 5 series.
The car benefits from full BMW Main dealership history upto 82K miles then has had annual oil and filter changes (Castrol Edge only) after that despite very limited use (now 108K).
When I bought the vehicle I had it thoroughly inspected and it needed almost the entire exhaust system, replacing which at BMW would be at eye watering cost for a mild steel system. I researched and found a company in Sheffield that would prepare an exact OEM equivalent in stainless steel. Please be assured I am no boy racer and the exhaust design is critical, if incorrect can cause engine management issues. There is a very soft burble at idle and a nice progressive tone when driving (no droning etc), the exhaust tailpipes are also not visible from the rear as I opted for the down swept profiles (factory equivalent). The exhaust alone was £1250 and comes with a life time guarantee.
The car mechanically is superb, engine note is very sweet even from cold, being the 4.4 it does not suffer from the same Nikasil (terminal cylinder bore wear) issue that other models sadly do.
The car looks stunning and is sadly somewhat of a rare sight these days. In terms of the negative aspects to the car: There is a fuel weep when the tank is filled to a high level, I've not had this investigated fully but just to make the new owner aware. The body is solid and has never been welded but there is a small amount of surface corrosion showing on the drivers side rear wheel arch (not major please see pic, taken from worst angle to show, at eye line barely noticeable). The car is fully HPI clear but has had the bonnet painted at some point. There is also a small spot on the drivers wing where the paint would benefit from touch up (size of 5 pence) please see picture.
Overall a very genuine, extremely reliable, beautiful looking piece of Bavarian history, Please could I ask if possible to telephone rather than email if you would like any further details or to arrange a viewing.
Thank you
Robert
