BMW 3 SERIES M3 EVOLUTION EDITION 1999

This is the sale of my BMW E36 M3 GT Imola Individual #48
The Imola Individual was a special run of 50 cars that were top of the spec sheet, available in Imola Red paintwork with Imola/Anthracite leather/suede interiors
I am owner #5
I have owned this car since August 2011 and in the time, I have done the following...
Current at 102,200 miles - wont be moving this side of 2015
2x oil changes
ARP Rod bolts
OEM BMW bearing shells
Replaced hard lines over fuel tank
Replaced propshaft guibo
Replaced main fan belt
Replaced pulleys (squeak from other one I didn't replace)
Replaced VANOS filter on each oil change
Replaced spark plugs
Replaced throttle cable
Replaced clutch master and slave cylinders with OEM items, and fitted braided clutch hose
ACS Pedal covers
Replaced bonnet release cable
Replaced bonnet slam panel catches
Replaced all instrument cluster bulbs
Fitted KW V3 coilovers (included)
That took me up to around August 2013 when I had a full body repaint carried out - replacing the following:
Front bumper - broken plastic supports
Front nose cone - slight rusting around edges
2x Front wings - Rusting around bottom edges
Passengers door - rust
Bootlid - rust under spoiler (common on GT2s) and around leading edges (common water trap)
2x side skirts - dents from people kicking them when getting in and out of the car
Rear bumper - broken supports and plastic had warped over time
ALL seals were replaced - so - sunroof, front and rear screen, driver and passenger front and rear window, bonnet and bootlid seals.
The repaint work in labour cost came out at £4500 and the parts were about £2500 all in.
I had the wheels diamond cut in my time also, however they've started milking - currently the tyres are Goodyear/Pirelli mix but I have a set of PS3s we could deal on. Could also do a deal for a wheel refurb.
Interior wise -
Steering wheel retrim
Centre console, drivers kick panel and passengers small side trim covered in Imola leather by John of Bespoke Leathering, Birmingham
Alcantara gearshift, handbrake and handbrake gaiters, with red stitching
In terms of performance, I have relocated the IAT sensor as so to avoid heat soak.
Arches on the rear have been professionally rolled by Arch Enemy
Prior to my ownership, I have spoken to 3 of the 5 owners (myself not included) - they have verified the history of it. Clutch was changed circa 80k miles so has plenty of life left - no slipping/juddering
In March 2004, when the car was 5 years and 2 months old (Registered beginning Jan 1999, built date December 1998) it was involved in a collision that unfortunately placed it on the condition alert register.
The car was bought back by the owner and repaired, MOT-d and away he went. When I went to view the car, I had no intention of buying it, but having seen many others, and knowing as it were a GT2 my choices were limited, I took a punt and went to view it. Test drove it, absolutely nothing untoward that would indicate anything wrong with the car. No knocks/bumps/clunks. All the panel lines were straight and true and after going over it with a fine tooth comb, decided that I would make it my project.
I have no idea what caused it, neither do any of the previous owners. Owner #3 didn't find out until he owned the car for 6 months. My guess would be a minor impact on the front right hand side (passenger) as the door was from that of a non-airbag model, instead of one with an airbag. This is of course, now rectified and is as it should be.
I have included pictures that show the bare chassis whilst in the paintshop, indicating no damage whatsoever to any structural areas.
There is no mark against it on the V5C logbook stating that it has had extensive repair work carried out.
As you can see by my list above, which I have no doubt missed items off, this car has wanted for absolutely nothing in my ownership and the full repaint will ensure that it stays in a fantastic condition for many years to come.
Look beyond the marked history (which can be changed to Condition Inspected @ Autolign) and this is a fantastic car that speaks for itself.
This is and has been an enthusiast owned car through and through. I know personally the previous owner to me and have spoken through email/phone with the previous owners before him, who all verify it's history.
It was at all the major BMW shows in 2014 and the history of my ownership is well documented on major UK BMW Forums.
