Description

Quite possibly the most famous E46 M3 in the world is for sale! CSL looks and performance, for not CSL money! (is that a good thing?)
Over a million youtube views between the carthrottle e46 M3 video and a couple of others, it's always nice to own the car that's number 1 on youtube for "e46 M3"... (well, no one has ever recognised the car, but it sounded good for the advert)
2003 estoril blue M3 with a few choice modifications. The car is in great condition for the age, and is relatively low mileage as both myself, and the previous owner of 4 years owned it as as second car. Sadly due to buying a house I should probably sell it, and more to the point now owning an M135i, the M3 rarely gets used.
This M3 has had the boot floor replaced by Nottingham Sytner BMW about 5000 miles ago with paperwork to prove it. Full service history with a recent major service with valve clearances.
This car was very well specified from new, and was an individual order with HK stereo, sat nav etc. There's been a few further (hopefully well chosen) modifications from the previous owner and myself.
Modifications:
- Genuine CSL bootlid (~£900)
- 19" CSL wheels with NEW 235/35 & 265/30 Bridgestone Potenza S001 tyres (~£1600)
- Agency power exhaust system with 100 cell cats (~£1200)
- Hartge lowering springs (~£400)
- Recaro speedline front seats with custom seat frames made by the same guys who fabricate bentley/aston martin seats, not just average rubbish (~£700)
- Genuine BMW motorsport rear diff kit "4.10" (~£900)
- Angel eye kit professionally installed (not your usual tat ~£200)
- Tinted glass
- Alpine iPod system
- Evolve map (~£600)
- Goodridge braided hose kit
- Strassentec front splitter (damaged)
- Original trim wrapped in piano black (~£300)
- Black kidneys and side vents
Original seats and bootlid provided with the sale.
Original 19" wheels are available at a price (with brand new Michelin Pilot Super Sports) and even a secondary set of 19" wheels with new Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 winter tyres if cold weather running is your thing. They make a difference (see video links below)
Good points:
- Unique colour
- Unique exhaust
- Excellent condition throughout
- Full recent geometry setup
- Low mileage
- Full service history with recent major service
- Fresh tyres and wheels
- "Turns heads, innit"
Bad points:
- Unique colour (not to everyones taste)
- Unique exhaust (very loud, original included if it's too much)
- Usual MINOR M3 bubbling on the wing mirror stems and a small part of roof rack. These are not part of the car body. The arches and rest of the car are rust free!
- Auto dimming rear mirror is always dim, never caused me a problem, new glass is about £80
- Front strassentec probably splitter needs replacing. It has brushed one too many curbs and looks a bit sad.
- One alloy (NSF) has a tiny amount of kerbing
- One small car park dent in the passenger side door, one small scratch OSF wing, about 3cm
- Usual front stone chips for a 48,000 mile car
- The piano black wrap is slightly peeling in places on the door handles.
- The number plates say "the best drivers do it sideways". Blame that one on the previous owner.
No money needs to be spent on this car in the next few years (if you don't mind the front splitter!) The next service will be a minor oil service in 12,000 miles.
It's clean, low miles and unique. I'm in no rush to sell, so no silly offers please. This car is priced at the high end of the market because it is. Low miles, fixed boot floor, CSL parts, full history and premium modifications totalling over £7,000 make this a very desirable e46.
The 4.10 rear diff combined with the map mean this car will happily pace an e92 M3 in a straight line. And it's better looking! (subjective...) And is quicker in the corners!

Any questions, please ask. I'm better on email than mobile as I travel a lot. No, I won't break the parts off the car yet, so please don't ask.
It's SMG. Which is a plus for me, but not everyone.
