2001 BMW

I looked for a while to find a Le Mans blue M5 with black leather and alcantara headlining, the best combination in my opinion. It has all the options and luxury you’d expect in a car that cost the best part of £60,000 new – sunroof, heated power seats, premium sound etc etc. The car starts, drives and stops beautifully. Comes with all factory manuals, first aid and tool kit and two keys. The car has been well maintained over its life and it shows inside and out - leather is good for its age and there are no dings or scratches in the bodywork.

I bought this car for long European road trips and it handles them effortlessly. Immediately after purchase I sent the car to Phil Crouch at CPC Engineering for a full checkover and had him fix many of the usual niggles M5s have as they get older (including a MAF sensor, front track control arm bushes and a rear main leak), he also checked the VANOS and replaced parts where necessary – all up cost me almost £2,500 but I needed everything perfect for driving on the continent. Shortly afterwards I drove the car to Croatia and back; since then the car has accompanied me on several other Euro trips and never skipped a beat. Documented main dealer and independent service history. MOT through to 12th June 2014, tax due end of February.

All accessories work including the phone and sat nav and there are no dash pixels out (common E39 issue). Recent set of Continental tyres with good tread all round. New front brakes and battery fitted six months ago. I’m a car guy, proud of what I drive and spend the money it takes to keep my cars in top condition. Which will be to your benefit when you buy my M5 as there’s nothing to spend on it. I do love the E39 M5 - it's a great machine and while I’d love to keep this car, I’m getting a company car and simply can’t justify having two cars in London.
